I am a little disappointed with the painting. Gogos has an incredible body of work and this is definitely among his weaker pieces. I still think it's wonderful he did it, the man is a legend, but he is a much better painter than this.

If this movie is a hit, do you think they'll make a sequel?
And if so what would you all like to see?

^It's hard to say when I haven't even seen the first film yet.

^ I didn't realize it was such a complicated question.... ;)

I don't think it would be hard to imagine a sequel to this if it was a hit.

It could go the lonely man journeying across Europe looking for a cure etc.

I would like to see a new monster crossover--ala Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man.

With today's SFX the action could be incredible.

OMG! :awesome:

You really ought to see it, miss Dawes. Along with all the other great Universal classics. They are part of pop culture history that everyone should know. In my opinion at least. :woot:

Actually, if Universal finally gets the ball rolling on their Creature From The Black Lagoon remake, I hope to hell that they finally release a DVD with the 3D print that they released back in 1954.

A Google search led me to a website that is selling 3D versions of the original, and Revenge of The Creature. But I'm not sure if they're legit prints or not. I imagine not, because no where does it say that it's endorsed by Universal. Back in the 80's a VHS copy of the first Creature film was released in 3D, but it's expensive.

As much as I HATE HATE HATE 3D, i'd like to see the original Creature of The Black Lagoon in it's original 3D format. After that, 3D can burn in hell.

anyway, Wolfman/Frankenstein sequel....maybe. It would be a logical choice, if all goes well. But i hope that The Wolfman ends with closure. No setting up for a sequel. End the film with some finality so if they never make a sequel, i won't be disappointed. If they make a sequel, go the way of the original "Frankenstein meets The Wolfman" in terms of bringing Larry back to life.

I saw the 3D Creature of the Black Lagoon on a big screen in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. It was an absolute blast! Loved it!

And, yes, in regards to this new Wolf Man movie, I hope it ends just as you say, with a dead Larry Talbot, but if they go sequel, revive his sorry ass! He's gotta fight Frankie!

Is this new Wolfman a literal remake of the original or is is it just inspired by it?

It's a remake of the original. Same characters. The plot from the original is that Talbot comes home to reconcile with his father, but I think the brother thing is new. And there's probably other changes. Aberline is not apart of the original, so thye changed things. But they're really cool ones.

After watching the spots, I'm pretty excited for the film now. What I'd do to see a tv spot with Angel by Massive Attack attached.

In the theatre I can see why the 3D would be pretty cool. I have the original 13 ghosts and it comes with the cheapo original glasses...not good 3D at all to say the least.

A year or two ago my gf and a buddy of mine drove to San Francisco to see It Came From Outer Space in 3D at some old theatre, had a fun time.

I have to agree, it's just a painting of a often seen Photo. i wish he would have gotten better reference approved.

I'm glad the run time is going to be two hours now and that Danny Elfman is back(don't be repetitive).

Not sure how I feel about Elfman coming back, was the new guys music worse?

I liked Elfmans better. The music in the newer trailers just didnt seem to fit the atmosphere they were going for with this movie.

That's a great question. I think Universal should do what they did with The Classic Four Monsters (Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman and The Mummy) franchise back in the 30's and 40's. They should keep building up each monster franchise and do a couple of crossovers. They should look for the best writers and producers. I miss the old classic monsters. Nowadays there's too much hack, slash and gore. There not much of good horror stories.

How would Vosloo's Mummy stack up in a brawl with Del Toro's Wolfman?
