Beautiful poseter, the kind of classic, iconic look posters used to have before they became overlu photoshopped crap.

How would Vosloo's Mummy stack up in a brawl with Del Toro's Wolfman?

HORROR FAN SPECULATES:

Interesting question. They both are physically strong but I think The Mummy has the edge because it has magical powers.

Not sure how I feel about Elfman coming back, was the new guys music worse?

I dont think it was ever a case of "Elfman was bad, but this new guy's worse!" It sounds like, due to all the post-production troubles, Elfman had no time to finish. So they brought a new guy in, to re-score it. This guy just happened to suck. Or maybe his music didn't fit as well as they thought it would. And realizing that they still had Elfman's stuff, which probably worked better, they decided to once again run with it. Regardless, this is an odd move.

But i will agree that Universal and Johnston are really cutting it close here. There's what? 2 1/2 weeks until it comes out?

Hey, is it true the movie is going to be two hours now? Anybody able to confirm that?

BTW...I got the 12" Wolfman movie figure in the mail yesterday. This thing is stunning. The craftsmanship, the detail is amazing. It's one of the scariest figures I've ever seen, and the claws on this thing are so sharp it scratched me.
Things...haven't...felt...quite...the same...since...then....

Elfman hasn't cranked out a memorable score since the first Spider-Man movie. I don't know how to feel about this. I just hope the movie isn't the disjointed studio-raped mess that all these delays would indicate it to be

This looks like the return of good horror movies. I actually met Benicio Del Toro last year. Nice guy, really tall, at least for me. 2 hrs sounds like a good run time.

I hope this isn't a "Cursed" style train wreck. I knew in the first 10 minutes that flick was a bunch of crap.

can you post some pics? I really want to pick it up.

How do the bloodstains on the shirt look?

The pic shows splattered blood, but the figure I got looks blood soaked. It still looks fabulous. I am blown away by this figure. When you look at it up-close, every detail is top-notch. Also, what's surprising, is it's kind of heavy.
But I highly recommend it.

No, Elfman DID record a complete score for the movie. It's just that when the studio was recutting and reshooting it, they thought Elfman's music was inappropriate and tossed it out. Haslinger came on and did his thing, but then the studio did a test screening of the movie and the reception of Haslinger's score was disastrous.

So they re-inserted Elfman's score back as best as they can. However, since Elfman is recording his Alice in Wonderland score now, he couldn't rework it so orchestrator Conrad Pope wrote 25-30 minutes of additional music.

2 hrs and 5 minutes sounds damn good. Thank God it's not 80 minutes.

Hmm...didn't know that they though it inappropriate. I could have swore i read that they tossed Elfman's score simply because he had no time to finish it due to all the cutting of the film, hence the bringing in of a new guy. Ah well, atleast he's back to some extent.

Anyways, my film professor today told my class he was convinced that, due to all the production problems, that this film is going to be disastrously bad. I hope not...i really really hope not.

Why I want WOlfman to be good

1. Werewolves>>>>>vampire. It's time people see that
2. It would let me see where Johnston is at right now and get me pumped for Captain America
3. I hate when movies have kick ass trailers but end up being bad (Terminator Salvation)

I cant wait for this film

Wait so Elfman's score is back now???

If this movie is even half way decent I'll be shocked.

I think Universal just doesn't have a clue how to market it. I think it has great potential, but the delays and reshoots aren't comforting.

^It looks great so I am hoping against hope but man has this movie had huge problems...

Apparently it's been partially restored.

My best guess is when the 2 hour version came back with better scores in the test screenings, Universal didn't have time to rescore the whole movie and decided to put the work Elfman did back in to fill the extra time.

to bad that bad editing can destroy a good directed and good acted movie. with editing you can destroy a fantastic actor giving a good performance. wit hbad editing you can destroy good direction from a director and hes vision. with bad mixing of music you can also destroy the feeling of the movie.

so my expectations right now are at 5%. maybe 4?

I want it to be good because I'd like to see the Gothic Horror film make a comeback. Don't get me wrong, I like other kinds of horror movies as well, but the class of a good Gothic style horror movie is really epic to me. I'd love to see modern movies with strong scripts and good acting in this setting like Hammer's movies.

But it doesn't seem like they had a good plan or much organization...this makes me worry about Cap as well.

My fellow WOLFMAN fiends, be at ease, this movie will be the ruler of all werewolf movies!
For even if it does turn out bad, it will still be far better than most. The trailers alone clearly show a werewolf movie on a level we've never seen before, and with a truly talented cast. Be hopeful...
This will be the greatest werewolf movie of all time.
