But...
What if that isn't the father but...the brother?! And what if he kills his brother? Not knowing of course that it is. In an early draft of the script his father is trying to convince him not to go on the hunt. He does anyway. It could either be the father or the brother.

I have been trying to avoid spoilers,
but is his brother missing still when Lawrence is attacked? I've been thinking his Dad is the Werewolf THAT PASSED THE CURSE given the spoilers I have heard.

I am more convinced its the father or he knows who the original werewolf is. But i noticed that in the trailer the father stand in the window moon light and doesn't seem to change.

One major reason for me to see this film is Hugo Weaving, as I can't remember what he has been after Lord of the Rings and The Matrix Trilogy. I kinda missed him. ;)

So they kept that thing with the thing from the Anrew Kevin Walker script...

Uh...

V for Vendetta? How in the hell could you have missed that?

^ a lot of people don't know that was him

for once we had an actor in a comic film that didn't insist on halving 2/3 of the mask ripped off (looking at you toby and topher)

Um... V's whole persona was suppose to be mysterious, and in that he never reveals himself.

Poeple still don't ****ing get it.

So? That's what 'people' DO get. What they're saying is, V kept in mask = good.
Spiderman (not Peter Parker) losing his mask so often = bad.

'People' get it.

Um... no.

Spider-Man lost his mask because of the final confrontation of the film. It's an emotional one. Can you imagine the Peter and Ock scene at the end of SM2 with the mask on? That stiff thing that can't emote anything worth a damn? If you wear a mask, you are not drawn into the actor's emotions. Therefored it's not nealry as effective.

People still don't get that these are movies. Not comic books that they hold onto for dear life and expect it all to be there. Not everything works on film. People still can't get that.

These silly little complaints are the reasons why fanboys shouldn't be making comic book movies.

All I got to say is, keep the damn mask on!

That is probably one of the reasons I likeBB & TDK so much, Bale didn't need to take off his mask for dramatic reasons. The worst part of Batman Returns for me was Keaton tearing off his mask.

Because he had to get to Selina? The only way to connect with her (she had her mask off) was to take it off. It was more emotional. He had a personal connection with Selina that he never shared with anyone else.

Besides. Batman has a freaking hole in his mask. His mouth can move, we can see his eyes, he can emote more in his voice as well.

Spider-Man has a mask over his face. No skin, and a fake jaw that makes it broader that doesn't provide much flexibility.

I can't believe people can't see this. This is logical thinking.

Pah, tell that to Rorschach and V... Here's the big ':whatever:' for your fanboy comment, the go-to line when people disagree with apologists.

Rorschach mask removal is a bad thing for with it on he can control himself better. Without mask bad with mask on safer Rorschach

let's stay on topic, guys. come on, less than two weeks away! woot!

Well, in the original script, Lawrence's brother is missing from the get-go. It's later revealed that Larry's brother was mauled to death by Papa Talbot. Larry's brother was his father's guard, locking him away and making sure he didn't get loose and one day, Pops got loose and...well, you know the rest. It would, however, be interesting, if they flipped this around abit. Larry's brother is a werewolf. Pops is the keeper, and that corpse Larry sees? Just some guy whose been mauled beyond recognition.

Exactly! That's what I was suggesting!
They could have possibly flipped the story around, and then at the end reveal that the father is a werewolf as well. I mean it's all conjecture, but that could be fun.
Also, in regards to what someone mentioned in an earlier post as to why the father, in the trailer, isn't changing when he's standing next to Larry looking at a full moon through the telescope. I noticed that as well, I can only guess that may be the father has control over his transformations? But I personally think it would be interesting if Larry ends up killing the werewolf that bites him only to discover it's his brother--further destroying the relationship between he and his father. Making them enemies by the end of the film.

Well, there is also that clip of Papa Talbots eyes glowing after he locks Lawrence in the vault.

And if...

he is a Werewolf as well, I hope Mezco comes out with a 12" figure of him too.

Good point. I think...
he can control his transformations at will. And yes! They'd better come out with that 12" figure!

Man, I can't wait for this movie!

Wolfman movie novelization is now on Amazon for a pretty decent price. Any of you thinking about getting it? I might.
