Borders has it in store already? Cool. I might have to do the same.
Are you planning on reading it right away or after you see the movie?

Yes, they had them today. I love reading books almost as much as watching a movie, so I havn't decided for sure but I'm pretty sure I'll start reading tommorrow as soon as I get home from work.

So you're going to dive right in! Well enjoy!
And let us know if it's a thumbs up or down when you're done.
I'm definitely going to pick it up, but will wait to read it until after.
I really want to go into the movie as fresh as possible.

I'm doing everything I can to avoid spoilers. There's a quick scene on the trailer where Hugo Weaving looks like this kind of Smeagolesque creature. He looked creepy.

What??!! Hugo Weaving? It can't be, why would he have an under-developed wormy teenage body?! LOL!

:woot: Good question. I guess we'll find out next week when Wolfman opens. I want to avoid all spoilers.

Pah, tell that to Rorschach and V... Here's the big ':whatever:' for your fanboy comment, the go-to line when people disagree with apologists.

Not to get too into this but to be fair Rorschach's mask emoted for him. And most agreed that Haley was far superior with the mask off than on in those scenes. But with V you do have a point. But Spidey isn't the articulate intellect and sinister swashbuckler either.

What I'm trying to say is I think they overdid it a bit in SM3, but there is some truth to the idea that if you want to have an emotional scene--the protagonist not being able to emote at the climax does weaken a film greatly. V is an exception, but imagine the train scene in SM2 with a mask on or Peter's conversation and farewell to Doc Ock with a mask on. Or his getting the **** beat out of him by GG with a mask on and seeing Norman kill himself.

Those scenes would be much more wooden and possibly funny. Spidey is in a bad situation like that. So is Iron Man, hence why Favreau came up with t he idea that we can see inside their suits (something not in the comics) and see their faces and even he had to take off Downey's mask for the ending as well.

Thank you. But it seems people won't listen. They only think what works in the comics and they don't think on a film's own terms.

Was listening to the replay of the Howard Stern Show this afternoon coming home from work, and apparently Howard & Robin were at a Wolfman screening last night, and they really liked it. They said it was very violent, and Benicio was very good in it.

Cool! A first good review, well kind of. God, I hope we get free tix to a screening here in NY!

Found the clip where
Anthony Hopkins' eyes glow in the dark....

Looks like the Wolfman previews are making about as big of a secret out of
Sir John being the original werewolf
as Terminator Salvation did out of Marcus being a cyborg.

Yeah, but I heard this since last year. It's not that big of a twist, I'm just curious how it works out in the film. Hopefully it's not too contrived.

Hey, can ya give us a link to the clip?

Yeah, I agree, but we're talking about a remake of an old movie, so I don't know how much more complicated it can be. Everything is going to be pretty simple and straight forward...at least I think. I could be waaayyyy off. Lol!

I saw at Walmart today they had two versions of the old Wolf Man movie. In both a single and double disc set. Plus you get a 10 dollar coupon to see the new movie. The single disc was 9.99, while the double was 19.99

Can't decide which one to purchase. I think I'm liking the second one more:

I agree with you.
The only problem I am seeing with the first one is that it doesn't really make you think of the Wolfman at all. It's a great looking poster, but for all we know, it could have been some original art piece that they decided at the last minute to throw the "Wolfman" title on, and add an odd looking shadowed figure on the right. That character doesn't look anything like the Wolfman. There's not even a full moon on the poster, at least that would make sense to the concept of a werewolf.
I honestly think the artist who created this image added that solid black shadow figure to the poster--after the fact. He slapped on the title and...voila!
I am not trying to dog it, it's a great looking poster and I would love to have that on my wall. But I am not convinced it is an authentic or meant-to-be Wolfman poster.
