Days of Future Past Wolverine and Magneto...

I know he's a terrible swimmer, and the adamantium makes him heavier so it's hard for him to swim as well (although that wouldn't have been in issue in DOFP). I remember during the Civil War series that he went down to Atlantis wearing Iron Man's suit, so he needs something to breathe if he is going to swim.

It does make sense that he could regenerate only to drown again, since he was pinned down by the rebar. Which makes that sequence even creepier.

So he never really drowns because that mean dying ie. not coming back. What a head twister. Huh, comics.

Someone remind me: Did he have his metal claws at the end of The Wolverine in the airport scene? Is it ever explained how he got them back?

My head was swimming (no pun) from trying to keep the continuity together. (it took me longer than it should have to realize why he had bone claws in '73)

He had the adamantium skeleton...but only bone claws.

Like someone else said he drowns and gets close to death then heals so i guess he spits out the water but then his lungs fill up again.

What you said.

That was a brutal scene. Wolverine gets ****ing owned.

The girls sitting next to me at the show I saw last week were hiding their eyes when he got impaled.

I love how future Xavier had realized things had gone terribly wrong at that point too.

It was good to see Wolverine not get the big heroic moment AGAIN in this film

Although, I was just the slightest bit disappointed that
without his adamantium, i was hoping to to see logan score just one single scratch on Magneto, which he hasn't been able to manage yet in all 7 or so films

hoped he'd get a brief "you're not so tough without MY adamantium, huh bub?"
but like I said, it was nice that he wasn't the savior again

Had to be done to keep the franchise moving forward!

It was pretty f$%^ing nasty!

The problem with Wolverine ever trying to fight Magneto is two-fold:

1. His mutation is healing, which only comes into play if he actually gets hurt.
2. He's got claws, which are cool and all but require him to get up close and personal.

Magneto's powers on the other hand, work best at a distance. Heck, he doesn't even have to move his hands to use them. He was just flicking his head a little and stuff was flying at Wolverine. And he's got an entire stadium full of metal to use as a weapon. So basically the only way that Wolverine really stands a chance is if he surprises Magneto. He's the worst possibly opponent for Logan to try and fight. And yes, that was brutal. Maybe next movie Magneto will slice up Wolverine with some barbed wire or something.

Everyone in the world is overlooking the fact Magneto committed a MURDER.

With no remorse. Cold blooded kill.

Magneto did not know about the regenerative powers of Logan. He only knew the guy had retractile bone claws.

The line: "So much for being a survivor"

means

"You're not a survivor anymore. You're dead".

Pretty nihilistic in a blockbuster movie, I guess.

After he put a slowly paced bullet through Sebastian Shaw's head...why would anything else surprise you?:woot:

"I spent years trying to take you down"

That line only suggests that the X-Men faced Magneto again in the 2007-2012 timespan.
No that's just the writers having an over-inflated view of Wolverine's importance. Same way that he "fell in love" with Jean Grey after knowing her for like two days.

He also killed those three Nazi's in that bar in South America, and tortured one of them by repeatedly stabbing him in the hand.

He probably killed others in his journey between the camps and 1962

Wolverine should just be happy he fell into the Potomac during the 70's. Now it's so polluted he would have come out with another set of mutant abilities.

Yeah I'm sure we don't know half the shady **** Erik's done over the years. Like he said to Charles on the plane: "You've no idea what I've done." I believe him.

:hehe:

I love the little moment when Erik gives Logan the look at his claws in the kitchen like "you and I both were about to kill these guys, don't try to act like you're any better"

Btw wolvie fanboys
Logan should not stand a chance against Mags.
Mags is a mega villain who demands the collaboration of
Entire X men teams to stop

You know, it's going to be really fun when Logan and Magneto meet in the next film.

Think about it
- Magneto thinks he killed Logan in cold blood
- Logan has absolutely no memory of ever meeting the guy, aside from that one time in a bar
- Someone might have told him how he got sunk at the bottom of a river...

Also, does Magneto ever learn the name Wolverine?

Magneto is heartless!!

So only Beast gets credit for Stabbing Magneto with the cure at the end of 3?

I'm thinking that was prolly Logan's plan.
