Wolverine: Casting News & possible new pic.

No Rock, please...have mercy

Nothing's wrong with Dwayne Johnson (he does no more wrestling, by the way). He's a pretty good actor. And he'll definitely become better and better with each film.

I like how wrestling is equated to drug abuse around here. :oldrazz: It's like "Don't worry. He's clean now."

As it should be considering they're all on steroids and rub oil on themselves so other young boys can watch them on TV. Even on drugs I wouldn't do that.

Why is it that muscular people are automatically on steroids? I admit that there are those on steroids but I wouldn't say every single one is on the stuff.

As for oiling themselves up, hey, it's a show. Gotta look good. :oldrazz:

Not all muscular people...just the professional wrestlers. They ALL are or were except maybe freaks like Andre the Giant. That is without exception. Pretty much the same can be said for professional football players and many UFC fighters. I know this personally.

UFC fighters? That's actually a new one on me. I thought those dudes were straight edge. It's the bodybuilders that I thought were jacked on the stuff.

He's in talks for a loooooooooong time...I tend to think he'll pass.

Well he did ask the fans who they think he should play and he's gonna go with that.

I doubt. I mean, yes, he cares about what his fans think, but he's the one who has to take the decision. And, frankly, I don't know if he's personaly that thrilled to do a role in another comic book based movie.

There are plenty of UFC fighters on the juice. They dont' test for it.

Man, now that is just plain dissapointing. :csad:

Another? Which comic book character has he played before? And he sounds plenty thrilled about the idea to me from the interviews I've read.

He didn't play any comic book character. And I was talking about the movie, not about his previous roles. It's like a fashion these days. We've had a large number of movies based on comic books lately. (Not that I'm complaining) As for him being thrilled, yeah, he's always thrilled when it comes to a role. He wants to learn and become a better actor and I really admire that in him. But he's been in talks for quite a long time now and he already accepted another role in another movie, "Witch Mountain".

Origin was complete crap and would do nothing but muddy a Wolverine movie.

It's good to hear that.Origin was only done because if there was ever a Wolverine movie, the story would already be there. This of course, was done before.Wolverine with a history?I don't think so.

Kiwi star up for X-men spin-off role

Outrageous Fortune and McLeod's Daughters hunk Aaron Jeffery, right, has screen-tested for the role of Wolverine's brother in the upcoming $100 million movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Insiders say the movie's star Hugh Jackman has been approaching several actors about opportunities to appear in the movie, which has already begun location scouting in New Zealand including the Southern Lakes area. Filming is due to begin over summer.

Word is Hugh wants his mate Aaron to play his brother in the film. Hugh and Aaron similarly tall, dark and handsome have had regular catch-ups on Sydney's Bondi Beach, where the Kiwi is regularly seen with his girlfriend, La Femme Nikita star Peta Wilson.

The official word from Seed Productions is that not all the casting has been finalised.

Filming to begin over Summer? That's wrong.
Australia and New Zealand are in a different hemisphere and have opposite seasons from those of us in Europe and the Americas. December is summer to them. Right now, we are in autumn and they are in spring. So this movie to them is going to be filmed in the summer.

He's in talks for a loooooooooong time...
John August was hired to write the script in March and turned in his draft to the studio at the end of August. Rock stated that he's in talks about a month later. That's hardly a looooong time.:cwink:
I tend to think he'll pass.
He better not.:cmad: At least i don't think he will.:o

I sense that you really want to see Rock in "Shazam!"...:cwink:

More roles cast?

Aussie actor Conan Stevens (also a bodybuilder and wrestler) posted this on his official site.

Also of interest I was able to audition from a rather large US film, though if I was in then I would have been contacted by now.

I also met the casting agent for the new Wolverine movie though the parts were largely cast, but it is good for someone in Australia to have me on the books.

After the Berlin show finished Graeme and Janet Murphy had a Gala event, celebrating their retirement as Artistic Directors of the Dance Company and I had a small run on part at Graeme's request...
