UPDATE (8:25pm): Fox has come back with a response. Richard Donner is on-set but the 'consultant' information is incorrect. Donner apparently has been on-set for brief periods on the previous "X-Men" films as well - mainly helping out in an unofficial capacity out and spending time with his wife Lauren who is producing.
Fox also re-iterates that in no way is Gavin Hood being replaced or usurped by anyone, this is very much his movie.
Could this fit in with the story of producer Jeff Katz being needed on set in Australia (see post #260)? Who is Jeff Katz?
ETA: Jeff Katz is a comic book writer but he's also a C20th Fox exec - "resident fanboy executive at 20th Century Fox", according to ComicBookResources.
Yea me too...all we need is people who can't act. But oh well, they aren't famous enough to ruin the movie or for most people to take notice.Cameos from real life poker players sounds really stupid to me.
I still won't be shocked if the part about Fox wanting a lighter movie is true though.
This movie should be darker than the darkest corners of Africa. As for the whole Gavid Hood likes the dark side decision -- I'd like the film to be especially dark, or as dark as you can be for the PG-13 rating.
Yeah, like who cares? Really?Cameos from real life poker players sounds really stupid to me.
Well, he isn't getting any younger. I suppose it all hinges on how wrinkly Jackman gets over the coarse of the next few years....and according to the early script reports, the script leaves things open for sequels.
I wonder how much Wolverine Hugh's got left in him?
Cameos from real life poker players sounds really stupid to me.
It is easier to sit there with no expression than to blurt out a couple of lines without it being corny or bad.Part of being a great poker player is acting. It won't be that bad, anyone who can bluff with 1 million dollars sitting on the table can pull off a line or two.

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE
2009 Hugh Jackman reprises his role as Logan, the mutant who eventually becomes Wolverine and a member of the X-Men as he seeks revenge against Victor Creed for the death of his girlfriend. Origins allows us to look back at the beginnings of Wolverine and the shadowy Mutant X program, and features the appearances of fan-favorites Gambit and Deadpool for the first time in the X-Men movie canon. Directed by Gavin Hood and distributed by 20th Century Fox.
I know it's been debunked, but I can't help it but to feel bummed out nevertheless. Only because it's sounds like something Fox WOULD do: micromanaging.
