Apocalypse Wolverine - The Horseman Death (Or maybe not...)

I'd say jackman could still return after the wolverine 3 but probably not in another solo or possibly x-men team movie, I mean if they asked jackman to be in deadpool 2... Would he turn down the chance?

I'm still in shock tbh, can't imagine hugh's fans' are to happy.

We’re fine. The end seemed to be on the horizon for awhile now. Can’t really complain when you’ve had so many movies already, and at least one more on that way.

Although, like I said in the other thread, I’m sure some of his Broadway groupies will be delighted. They pitch a fit every time another Wolverine project is announced because they hate having to sit through those movies.

It’s fun to watch them try to decipher the comics, though. A few of them keep saying they hope the next movie is Old Man Logan because they think it's Wolverine’s *last* story...and they’re apparently clueless of the fact that the OML comic actually ends with Wolverine coming out of retirement to join the superheroes again. :cwink:

“You really goin’ out to take ‘em down, Mister Logan? You really gonna bring the law back to the country?”

“Why not? Got nuthin’ better to do."

I'm just curious how all of this will work out in terms of the films. As good-looking as Jackman is, I think the dude looks his age. So, it's always been hard to completely buy him as ageless.

Anyway, my curiosity is when the new film takes place. In the new rebooted timeline? In the old one?

At this time he finally looks like in age of comic Logan, it can't be end for Jackman in this role. Last solo movie, but should be in other X-Men movies.

Or maybe not indeed. Angel could very well become the Horseman of Death instead. I still don't think this is the best way to introduce him, but if not Wolverine, then better him than some of the others who have held the role.

Remember hellfire club? I wouldn't be so sure horseman will be with designations like death.

As for wolverine he may still cameo but that would be 1 or 2 scenes. And it may be more about setting up wolverine solo than being part of Apocalypse story.

I think Hugh loves Logan too much to let go of the role. One last time tweet must be referring to his last solo movie.

Maybe his wife is growing tired of sharing naked Hugh with everyone...

So guys, I have a theory. We all know that this film is going to be just as heavy as the last one on CGI and I believe with the Wolverine Cable theories, we may get Wolverine somehow. In response to what his workload for Apocalypse would be, Hugh said he was not sure given that he had not read a script yet. That seems to indicate that he will be in the film, but given how Singer directed Lucas Till who only had a cameo in Days of Future Past, Jackman may really only have a small role that can be filmed when he frees up. Right now he's filming Eddie the Eagle, whose filming seems like it'll conclude before Apocalypse's. So here is the idea, Wolverine will become a Horseman, it's just that the role will probably be cameod by Hugh Jackman when we see his face or something and that it may be mo-capped by somebody else and Jackman just provides voice.

^ Don't think so.

I believe that the moment we knew they squeezed Angel into this film the idea of Wolverine as a Horseman, and specifically as the Horseman Death, became almost nil.

It's still possible, if not likely, that Wolverine will be in the movie, but at this point it's almost guaranteed to be a cameo.

The only real question is how they will explain what happened to him after he was pulled from the water. Will this even be shown, or will it be left unanswered?

i think the idea was mystique went back to saving mutants in the end and thats all it really was

it probably wasn't a cliff hanger as expected

^ But then, what did she do with Wolverine?

Did she just let him go?

I think not since they went out of their way to show Stryker saying that "he" would take him.

That makes me think there is a story there to tell.

Does he go through the Weapon X program, but it's actually Mystique leading it?

Would he do that willingly, or is he kept unconcious and forced to endure it?

Personally I liked my idea better, which had Raven providing Wolverine (in stasis) to Mr. Sinister, an agent of Apocalypse. She did this to further her cause of helping mutants. Sinister gives her information that she wouldn't have been able to get otherwise, which could include the whereabouts of a special mutant named Destiny. In other words, she'd be willing to sacrifice the one for the many! Of course this would have led to Wolverine becoming the Horseman Death, which would have included adamantium.

Anyway, I just always expected that we would see how he gets his adamantium back. Maybe that'll happen in Wolverine 3, or maybe we'll never find out...

I don't think they squeezed Angel into the film, he just wasn't announced with Storm, Jean and Cyclops because they are this film series' original three. I feel like Archangel could be War or Logan could be War but either one that Logan is, it'll be a CGI heavy role.

Then again, you could be right and Wolverine could show up in a flashback to tell us what Mystique was doing all of these years. I'd like to say mine is the right theory, but my gut tells me you're probably spot on.

^ By "squeezed" I meant wrote him into the film, even though it wouldn't make any sense in this timeline. In other words, unless they do something a bit out there (like more time travel) then Warren has no right being in the 1980's, and it's been talked to death how in this new timeline he wouldn't be able to have been born prior to 1973, which means a teenaged (or older) Warren could not be in 1983!

I just don't see them featuring both Archangel AND Wolverine as Horsemen. Jackman would way overshadow Archangel, and the fact that they are going to the efforts that they are to "sqeeze" (write in) Archangel, it means he will likely be the featured Horseman (just like in the comics).

It seems wayyyy to quiet on the wolverine front. I can't see it being a huge role maybe a supporting/cameo role.

Can't believe he isn't even confirmed!

This means one of two things:

1). He is in it; small role and they want to keep it a secret

2). He is not in it (I'm inclined to think the latter).

i am starting to think he won't be in it, unless its like a cameo

even though singer loves the character i think even he knows he has to try and make a X-Men movie without him

wolverine is eather not in apocalypse or only cameo which they will try to keep secret.

Hugh Jackman leaving after wolverine won't mean ending of wolverine in X-Men films. He will be recast at some point.

If it ends up being a cameo, with Halle Berry's Storm and McKellan's Magneto (which is the rumor) then I'm still feeling that an Age of Apocalypse (where Logan and Ororo are lovers/married and Mags is the leader) is a possibility.

I know, why would they have an Apocalypse movie right after an Apocalypse movie?

And my answer is, what if this movie will focus more so on the Horsemen, with Apocalypse pulling the strings, effectively setting him up for an AOA movie?

I know, it's an off the wall idea, but there's not that many stories where a Jackman Wolvie, Berry Storm and McKellan Magneto are integral!

Not forgetting storm and wolvie kiss in the deleted scenes of dofp. Maybe they will also be reinstalled

^ Which I believe gives some justification to this concept of mine.

Effectively, in the animated series, it was Wolverine and Storm who were in love, and married, in the dystopian, Apocalypse ruled world.

I could absolutely see them wanting to do something in this regard, and with the actors and actresses aging out, and with how popular the OT cast is (based on box office results), this could be the last chance to use them!

This just seems like something right in Singer's and Kinberg's wheelhouse!
