Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry to visit Mexico to promote film

Mexico, April 25, 2006 (Notimex) - Australian actor Hugh Jackman and American actress Halle Berry will visit Mexico next May 15 to promote their latest movie "X-Men: The Last Stand," to be released on May 26.
Jackman, who has palyed the role of "Wolverine" since the first film of the saga, has been in more than other 20 films, including "Swordfish" (2001) and "Van Helsing" (2004).

In 2002, he had a Golden Globe nomination for his role in "Kate & Leopold." A year later, he participated in the second "X-Men" film.

Halle Berry is considered one of the sexiest women in the world. She began her career on the catwalk, and after appearing in several films, she won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2002 for her role in "Monster's Ball."

This turned her into the first African-American woman to get the Academy Award. She has featured in movies like "The Flintstones" (1994), "Gothika" (2003), and "Catwoman" (2004).

"X-Men: The Last Stand" is directed by Brett Ratner. Besides Jackman and Berry, the cast is formed by Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen, Anna Paquin, and Kelsey Grammer, among others. This is the final chapter for the saga based on the Marvel Comics book about mutant heroes. NTX

Thought I'd post this, Zak Penn left this quick comment over at xverse regarding the Leno clip...

Sorry I haven't answered questions for awhile. I've been really busy. I just want to say that I saw the clip from Leno, and it is completely hacked up from the movie. So people shouldn't sweat it. (And by the way, I also thought the music was over the top!)

Phew! He also said he hasn't seen the final VFX yet.

how does he know if he hasnt seen the final cut yet? and does that explain where the hell wolvering pops out from?

I actually like X2's sentinel concept. A lot of people say it looks like an overgrown slinky, but if you look at it, it's just as solid (wires, etc.) on the inside as any other concept drawings. It's outer-shell is just detailed via the segments.

I think the head is actually more faithful to the comics than the one in X3 . . . it's the face, the eyes . . . It even has the eerie search light in the center of its chest.

Having said that, I don't think the X3 version has gone horribly wrong or anything (we've only seen the head afterall, and it looks pretty faithful). I just think the X2 design should receive more credit than it's given--it pretty much nailed the creepiness of the sentinel in my opinion.

I'd have preferred they'd stuck with the 'pinhole' white eyes rather than big glowing red ones (the former looks more sinister to me, the latter kinda cheap and toyish) and kept the shaping of the mouth as per the books, but as we probably wont see much (if any) of the thing beyond the DR scene it's no big deal.

Should there be more movies and Sentinels do play a major part I hope they go back to the comics and bring more of those elements into the design.

He hasn't seen the final FX yet, I'm sure he knows/has seen how the whole DR scene really plays out though! He did write the scene and probably saw a rough FX version of the whole thing.

That's a relief. I figured it was hacked up and the VFX weren't finished.

I don't understand what Zack said,

what does mean? " it is completely hacked up from the movie."

It means that it was edited the hell out of because they wanted to show hughs scenes since he was the one on the show.

Wait--the spotlights are round, but the Sentinel's eyes are shaped quadrilateral. Are the spotlights not from the sentinel's eyes, or did they just screw up?

No, they did not 'screw up'. :down

The spotlights come from the Sentinel's chest.

If you just scroll up a tiny bit you will see someone has included several Sentinel images in their reply, with spotlights coming from the chest. The images are right above you, God knows why you didn't see them. Do you type with your eyes closed?

Rest assured ... thats the only thing we'll see regarding Sentinels.

Kinberg just confirmed Sentinels wont be seen outside the Danger Room... unless he's playing with us

He wouldnt. He would just go "sorry spoiler".

I scanned through his answers, did he just say we won't see them outside the DR or did he say we won't see more of him in the DR than a head and 2 spotlights??

RELIEF that the music was temp and he admitted the FX weren't finished though!!

I got to admit , the music in this clip sounds very cheesy ... although I can safely say it wont stay this way :)

"I saw the clip. The FX are not complete, including the Colossus effect. Dramatically, the clip is a significantly shortened version of that sequence from the film. It’s a highlight reel of Hugh’s big beats in the sequence. The music is temp too."

Did you read that?

He has been asked so many times about the music that even if it wasn't temp they would have change it :p

Yes, it was terrible music. Like something out of a Tom & Jerry cartoon.
