Wolverine VS. Sentinel clip

It was not temp music. If it was temp music then they have a serious problem in the scoring department. The score should be nearly done by now and they should be practically finished mixing the sound. You all need to face reality. The effects are more than likely done in this shot...Colossus will look like that on film. ANd, I disagree, while decently edited, the trailers featured some fairly over the top action and very bad wirework (wolverine and beast) in addition to some cringe worthy dialogue (cage the beast, anyone?)

Hey I love that cage the beast line. :( But yeah I can see why you hate this clip and I know I am beating a dead horse here but it seriously looks like it was edited all up for Leno.

So what about the millions of people who watched the show? Are the supposed to deduce that from the clip? Was that somehow implied? You are not thinking on a large enough scale, I think. The producers felt that the clip was good enough to show on national television as representation of how the film will be. Are you sayin you acknowledge the fact that the clip is not very good?

If a normal person is stupid enough. To watch a 58 second clip ONCE. And still go on a stupid idiotic rant. Then they also deserve to be eaten by fire ants.

The audience seemed like they really enjoyed it; they cheered and clapped enthusastically towards the end. And all I'm saying is that the clip is obviously unfinished but regardless it's a very entertaining snippet from the film.

Exactly. It also makes his eventual appearance that more exciting; because we don't expect him to come out, when he does it's a "Woah, awesome!" moment of unexpectedness. That's the thrill Brett was undoubtedly trying to convey and he did it brilliantly. We're expecting Wolverine to be possibly injured or wondering where the hell he is and him just walking casually right from behind the Sentinel is just classic. Really well done.

Indeed. It was definately an "Oh ****" moment for me.

I'm not sure if they're going to care if the clip's unfinished or not... remember, they're not fanboys...

I don't think the clip's at all very fantastic. Sure, it's something where we have to wait to see how it fits into the context of the film with Ratner's new style, and also see it fit into the more immediate context of the sequence, but that clip just didn't work.

The dialogue was forced and awkward, as was the acting (even from Jackman). The special effects also looked appalling on Colossus. Conclusive statements can't be made here on the effects work (we don't know how much has yet to be done), but it doesn't bode well.

X3 has a solid chance of sucking pretty badly.

They'll surely care if they think it looks crappy.

Wolverine didn't magically pop out from behind. I don't understand why some got that impression. He's walking from where ever he landed after he cut the Sentinel head of. It just so happens that we, as the viewer, don't see him until he reaches the head of the robot.

If he was standing right behind it the whole time, then he wouldn't be walking the way he did when he appeared.

I don't know. I mean you get a pretty clear look at the background before the Sentinel lands and I didn't get the sense that Wolverine landed anywhere in that vicinity. Not that it didn't play out that way, but it's not entirely clear, IMO, what the the director's intentions were for Wolverine's sudden appearance.

True, but regular audience members don't notice the same things we do, or pick at the same things we do.

The whole point of that clip was to make Wolverine look like the coolest guy in the entire world.

Other then the lack of a Canadian style accent on Logan's part, I thought the clip was great! I was extremely surprised to see the Sentinals actually made it into X3. What other surprises may be in the movie???? Those lines are the very sort of thing we have seen Logan/Wolverine say in the comics. Personally I can't hardly wait for the finished product. That blunt attitude of his and matter of factness, walking thru the fire and such, trying to light a cigar in the middle of a fight scene... Gotta love him!

The funny thing is, for a second there I thought the other X-Men were applauding Wolverine.

The effects and the editing, probably, but not the acting. Which probably isnt' why most of them would go see it in the first place, so, eh.

Kind of like if a normal person is stupid enough to make a judgment about whether or not to see a movie based on a 58 second clip kind of like a tv spot used to advertise a movie or . . . . . . oh wait . . . :p Only kidding. Only kidding. Just trying to lighten the mood.

i think one of the things that played a difference in colossus from x-2 and this clip is that in x-2 he has this white blue glow because of the flash light and now we see him with a red orange color but it all varies cuz of how his metal reflects. Im not complaining im just saying.
I thought about that too...

Uh, guys, that clip is heavily edited. That´s not how it´s going to appear on the movie.

I don't see what was so bad about Halle or Hugh. I think they did fine.

Watch it again. Notice how long it took him to appear? If he was right behind the Sentinel, he would have popped out a lot sooner.
