Wolverine VS. Sentinel clip

The SR clip was great and I was well impressed with the flying! I think it's great that actors like Halle did their own wirework for flying scenes in X3 and I like what I've seen so far but I do hope the final result will look as good as SR's and Matrix' flyin scenes. I'd like to see some smooth, fluid like flying from Storm, Magneto, Angel and Phoenix in X3! I don't want bumpy, awkward looking obvious that it's wirework type of flying. I have faith though! I do wonder why they decided not to go with the greenscreen option for flying in X3 though.
I don't think it's fair to compare the DR clip to the SR clip though, SR's clip was obviously finished/more polished whereas the X3 clip is more than likely still a work in progress. I'm sure we'll get some amazing moments from the 2 films though!

Edit: what does that above quote mean, the head's not a special effect, I don't get it. Are they saying that's not the head we're gonna see or that the head is a real prop??

Whatever, the cheerleader crowd will pretend we can't judge how a film is shaping up from a 58 second scene but we can get all excited about it from 2 and a half minutes of chopped up 5 second clips.

I'm a huge X-men fan but I'm not going to go "ra-ra Ratner and Fox" when I dont think they're doing that great of a job from the stuff I've seen.

*yawn*

No one said you couldn't have your own opinion...

*Looks at ShadowBoxing's avvy*
It's the DR Sentinel!... if you take the horns away

Is greenscreen flying better?

From what I've seen in Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions and now SR I prefer the look of greenscreen flying. I'm gonna have to wait and see how the flying in X3 looks though.

So... everything in the movie has to be possible by the laws of science?

Not everything in this series has been scientifically possible...

NO... everything has to follow a world based on fact. i swear to god this is getting old. let me lay it down for you. Why could neo run up walls? why can cyclops shoot lasers from his eyes why can superman fly? Not science in our world, but the established science of theirs.

no where in XMEN science... can wolverine dissappear and reappear from somewhere that he WAS OBVIOUSLY NOT!

do you really not see that?

like i am being serious... not mean... not sarcastic? are you really to a point where you are okay with that? it is like lets have a huge battle scene where sabertooth and wolverine are fighting each other. Wolverine walks out of the scene and is 300 feet away from sabertooth when sabertooth starts to charge to his turned back. At about 150 feet wolverine turns around and slices at sabertooth missing him by about 145 feet! Sabertooths head falls off.

that is the science i am talking about. There is nothing about wolverine that explains how he could do that to sabertooth unless he claws are sooo sharp that they rip the air molecules apart in send a shred in the space seem that ripples out taking off sabertooths head!

like wise.... he has no explanation for Showing up somewhere where he wasnt! he is not a teleporter... so say something intelligent to back you your arguement... or shut up.

Agreed! :up:There is no comparing the two! One was made for a larger more public viewing(SR) while the other was made for Late Night(X3) which would obviously have less viewers! Thats probably why Fox gave Jay Leno a mediocre clip b/c they new it would reach a smaller audience! If they released a clip like this during American Idol for example then there would be reason to worry!

Bah. More Wolverine Show. While certainly worhty of geekgasm, Wolverine insulting his useless teammates isn't really much of an "X-Men" movie to me. The guys at Fox need to go read some comic books... Fastball Specials and Sentinels do not an X-Men movie make...

If I was a Wolverine Fan, then this would be the coolest thing I've seen...

i wouldn't worry, that one clip probably doesnt mean the whole movie is about wolverine and fastball specials

First of all, CALM DOWN.

It's not as if Wolverine appeared a second or two right after the Sentinel head fell. There's obviously a big enough time lapse in between the start of the Sentinel head falling, and when it stops rolling for Wolverine to make his way over to the group...

X3 is going to smoke anything Singer can make in his "nothing but realistic" fashion

this is the stupidest quote in this whole thread... congradulations

Singers X2 was perfect. Best marvel done movie yet. and i can break it down for you in a less then 5000 words or more than 8000 if you want. But being in similar studies that is easy to do. but since you made this grand comment... back it up.

No. X2 was NOT perfect.

For example, how could Magneto and Mystique know the EXACT spot to where the Blackbird was going to crash? No explanation. To break it down for you, that's known as a FLAW.

I don't see how this makes a difference. The Tonight Show is a heavily watched television program, and always has been. Regardless of what time of day FOX chooses to show the promotional clips, they will still be in the movie--mediocre or not.

Man, I don't know how anyone can talk smack about Singer. The guy did an amazing job with both X-Men films, especially X2. X2 is one of the best superhero movies that has come out thus far, alongside Batman Begins.

no there is not. are you watching the clip? and i am very calm. i can debate with out getting irrate. but you see the head fall... spin... come to a stop... you can see the back ground and above area... he doesnt jump down, he doesnt fall with it... he is just there.

X2 was decent, it didn't capture the Xmen perfectly like some people think. X1 was not that great at all, IMO.

all right i am getting to annoyed with the "let buy into anything" attitude... i apologize to the whole group... sincerely. i do.

i am calm, but passionate about this. this is suppose to be a great movie and it is turning up crappy thing after crappy thing. from the length to the sentinel in the DR, to the look of beast and colossus, to the fate of cyclops etc... i will calm down now. again i am sorry. everyone is free to have an opinion.. but when you make it, back it up a lil.... or know that it may be torn apart.

but not by me for now. cause i am going to chill a lil, and come back and see where we are at from there.

deal?
