Would a Movie based on the early adventures of Mr. Solo work?

It would have my money... but Lucas won't make spinoffs so sorry

No! I would only want it with Harrison Ford, and that can't work.

Well he did say he was making 3 made for TV movies and they won't feature any of the Skywalkers. I figure he'd go with Solo because he is one of the biggest icons yet we haven't seen him in any of the prequels.

No.

No one but Ford can play him. And Ford's too old for prequels.

(a 70 year old Han Solo would also be a bad idea:o)

only way this could work for me is an "Adventures of Han Solo" animated series, with Chewie and Lando in the supporting cast. preferably by Timm/Dini.

...What do you think though.. I mean he has the look and Sunshine taught us he could play a badass astronaut.

No.

Harrison Ford should only portray Solo, but that's not the big deal, at all. The big deal is that I think a Han Solo standalone film is pointless and unnecessary, IMO.

No.Like said only an Animated series because no one besides ford is Han Solo.

Exactly...and everybody would fuss if they got somebody different to do the job. Plus Lucas would make everything CGI except for Han himself.

There are already three novels that would be perfect for an adaptation.

The Paradise Snare | The Hutt Gambit | Rebel Dawn

The Han Solo Trilog
y, written by A. C. Crispin, covers much of Han Solo's life prior to the events of A New Hope. It spans from the year 10 BBY up until the moment Han is about to sit down with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca in the Mos Eisley Cantina, during A New Hope. It also provides some backstory from before 10 BBY.

The three books were originally released individually. They were later re-released together as an audiobook by the title The Han Solo Omnibus. The audiobook release was read by David Pittu.

The Han Solo Trilogy should not be confused with the The Han Solo Adventures written by Brian Daley. The three Daley novels actually take place during a gap in Rebel Dawn.

How would it be pointless? I mean, the prequel can be argued as pointless. A Han Solo film would show us how he won the Falcon, his past with Lando, His time in the Imperial Force, and how he met Chewbacca!

Me and my brothers were writing a pilot script for a Han Solo TV series a while back, and we were having a lot of fun with it! I should really finish it sometime. The idea was that in the pilot, Han meets Chewbacca who ends up owing him a "life debt," which basically means he has to be Han's sidekick. The finale of the first season would see Han winning the Millennium Falcon from Lando (who would be pre-established as Han's buddy from Corillia). There would also be appearances by Jabba, Boba Fett, several new characters that we crafted, and maybe even a very brief cameo from a certain farm boy on Tatooine. ;)

I would only like a Han Solo prequel if the script was fantastic enough to be a stand alone well received movie. If it didn't at least live up to the greatness of the OT, it wouldn't be anything more than a money maker to me.

Yeah, he's a real badass.

That's Han Solo material, alright. :whatever:

He is an actor.. its called Range, anyone who can go from Cross-dresser to Sweet and witty Astronaut to Irish revolutionary to Batman Villian to Zombie Slayer to Ingenius hitman..

Yeah, but once you've seen that, you'll always picture it in your mind. For example, whenever I see a movie with Tim Curry, I'll always picture him as Dr. Frank N. Furter from "Rocky Horror".

..Just because Tim Curry did that flick doesn't mean he is a bad actor and or incapable of portraying great characters, he is an amazing actor.

I guess because Han Solo is only one character in the huge story known as Star Wars. I don't think a prequel would warrant enough for Han Solo prequel aside from a fanboy's dream. The whole point of Star Wars was not about Solo, but about (because of the PT) the story of Anakin Skywalker, who was predicted to be the Chosen One, who would bring balance to the force only to turn to the dark side, then acquire ultimate redemption by finally bringing balance to the force. In the OT, it was about Luke Skywalker, a farm boy who would grow to become the man who would become a Jedi and bring balance to the force. Overall, even though Han Solo is an important character, I don't think he is significant enough to warrant his own movie, IMO.

It's like making a film about Jar Jar Binks and the Gungans. It can be done if it had to, but it'd seem out of place. It's like making a Will Turner prequel film. It can be done, but it'd seem unnecessary.

I hope I don't come off as a prick. :csad: :csad:

He is absolutely a great actor, but still, everytime I see him in a movie I think of Frank N. Furter.

Lucas could make Harrison Ford look younger with cgi or completely make a whole cgi Han Solo.
