Sequels Would you be okay with Venom sans symbiote in a sequel?

What about if the suit was originally designed as something that was going to be a cure for cancer, until the whole experiment was closed down, and bought out by the government/military/shady organization, who took over it...? Maybe they wanted to use it as a battle suit of some sort? After some tinkering done by them, it could be a plausible explanation as to why the suit looks how it does.

As I mentioned above, if the suit was granted access to virtually every single thing inside your body, and its goal was to rid said body of any defects, why would it only attack cancer? It's simple logic. Common sense. Get some, or leave this discussion now.

That's what happened in USM...

Trask found out what they were doing, heard that it enhanced a human's strength and wanted to sell it as it was.

@at your post above... the post above this. So what you're saying is, the suit should be a failed experiment of some sort? I'm cool with that. Makes sense aswell.

Again, I'm cool with that explanation. It'd be nice to get a pseudo-science explanation as opposed to literally "l0l, fell from da sky". :funny:

I agree. And yes, the suit was essentially a failed experiment in USM because Trask cut their funding before they could progress it any further which is why the suit has so many ****ing problems with it. It was unfinished. Peter and Eddie's parents left them both a sample to see if they wanted to try and finish it. Eddie wanted to use it, while Peter realized it was dangerous and wanted it destroyed. That's why Eddie hates Peter in USM and why he attacks him.

Again, only one person has the idea that the suit can cure more than just cancer.

It's not that I mind the medical aspect of the CANCER suit, but I am a fan of the 'Operation: V.E.N.O.M.' idea. And Bolivar Trask did use it for more purposes, but how did HE make the suit create spikes? That just doesn't make sense. I would have prefer from the get-go that the suit could create those spike for protection purposes.

It makes sense if an alien creature has fangs and an extending tongue with drool. Not a medical suit.

But the way Raimi introduced the alien was just lazy. It would be better if Spider-man intercepted a theif who was caught stealing from a secret government facility when the stolen alien attatches itself to Spidey.

And the only other people in this argument haven't read the USM comics...

So the one person who does believe it can cure more than cancer (which is obvious by using derivative logic) is the only one who has read the entire USM line...

And complaining about its appearance is nitpicking. It's like saying, "Why can Peter climb walls, have spider sense, and super strength, but can't shoot webs out of his wrists?"

No one really knows, but no one really cares because it works.

John Jameson returning and bringing the symbiote back to Earth from his spaceship would've been my ideal origin of it.

Well how about Peter's dad, etc, got up to the stage where the suit could increase the users natural characteristics, after that... the whole project got shut down, and ____ took over. The people at ____ worked on the suit further, but to suit a more specific purpose, the warzone?

Or something of the like. It explains the suits larger look, and why it looks like such a beast. :woot:

Lol, sure buddy

You're really an annoying and arrogant dude. Oh well, no skin off my back if you don't know how to use your brain.

If you don't use the spikes and long tongue, then the medical suit which was transferred to some other company is just fine, because it'll still have some reasoning how Venom could have large fangs. But the spikes all around and what not would only be ideal if it were straight from the military as a defense.

Lol, "annoying and arrogant dude" has a great ring to it...I think that'll be my new moniker.

Funny thing is I am using my brain seeing as how ONLY ONE person has the idea...and there are obvious people that have read the USM besides you that have been giving their opinions on the cancer suit from the beginning and yet ONLY ONE person has the idea of the suit being able to cure more than cancer.

That's exactly what I mean. The project literally stopped after Peter's dad and co developed the suit so it could increase the users strength (it would only make the human look slightly bigger, no fangs, teeth, etc) at which point the project was stopped, and continued by an evil organization! :woot:

Mind pointing me in the direction of these people that have obviously read it? All it takes is using your big boy brain and reading that single panel to figure out that the suit is designed to diagnose whatever problem the body is having. It's really not a very hard thing to understand.

The concern (although I find it to be nitpicky) about Venom's appearance in "the suit" is somewhat understandable, but it's really not hard to comprehend the fact that the suit is designed to take care of any problem's the body is having in order to optimize human potential.

Well the fangs have always been something I can see as reasonable since the symbiote, alien or suit, tried to "transform" Peter. A tongue, not so much, seeing as how in Spider-Man 3, TAS and TSSM never showed a tongue on the symbiote just by itself and only teeth/fangs. So, the fangs isn't a big issue, just the tongue and spikes all over itself. And those two, in a quasi-realistic way, could be portrayed as the "aggression" side of the experimental army suit.

Big boy brain? Oh boy I wish until the day I can have a big boy brain!

Yup. :woot:

Now let's all hope we actually see Venom again, because honestly... I really want to see him again. **** anyone who says he's a weak character who only looks cool. Whilst I disagree with the fact that he's a weak character, what's wrong with including him for reasons including the fact that he looks cool? :funny:

Why would I show you the other posts? You can clearly do that yourself, although to think you're the only one who has read the USM is showing that you are the arrogant one

The symbiote is a weak character, alien or suit, and it solely depends on how Eddie Brock is developed, which was poor in TAS, poor in Spider-Man 3, but used in a very great way in TSSM.

What did you say.

Seriously though, :funny: ...I can see what you mean. But Venom isn't. I agree with the fact that how strong of a character Venom is, depends on the development of Eddie Brock. If it's how it was in Spider-Man 3 then... yeah. He is kind of weak.

Lol, that pic looks scarier than Venom in S-M 3 :oldrazz:

Well Venom himself can be written very well with his stalker approach of Spidey's loved ones, but I'm just stating that out of the symbiote and Brock, Brock needs to be the one to be developed as the symbiote will be very difficult to do such. The symbiote is just some plot device whereas Eddie Brock needs to have a good backstory.
