Here's the thing. There are soooo many blockbusters coming out in the summer, maybe more than any year in history. That being said, SOME of them HAVE to suck. They can't ALL be good movies. It's impossible.
So the question is: Which ones will suck and be a disappointing let down?

In my opinion, Hulk, Iron Man, Speed Racer, The Happening, and Mummy 3 will suck horribly.

The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones, Hellboy 2, and X-Files 2 will be the only good ones. Those will be the only ones actually WORTH seeing.

So, am I pumped about X-files? You bet your ass. :cwink: 4 good movies sounds like a great summer to me. It's pretty sad when the best summer blockbuster I saw in 2007 was "Knocked Up."

Iron Man and Hulk sucking horribly?!? To say nothing of the fact that, while I'm looking forward to a new X-Files movie, even I won't put more faith in it than the two marvel movies coming out, with the talent involved in those films. X-Files 2 still needs to deal with the latter half of the series that followed the first film, and all the incoherent babble it brought to the table. The idea for a stand alone movie would have been a lot better if the series had ended with season five, then we had the first film. As it stands, we got four extra seasons that made things even more convoluted than they usually were, and left more questions than answers. To say nothing of the fate of Mulder and Scully, the series ending with them on the lamb. If any film next summer has an uphill climb it's X-Files 2. The likelihood of suckage is far greater.

X-Files 2... I'm anxious for, but instead of Lance Henrikson showing up they should do a straight on MILLENIUM film.

I bet Xzibit is the new "Dogget". Though I don't understand why not bring Dogget back? Robert Patrick ftw.

I am soooo hyped for this movie. I'm still pinching myself. Also Chris Carter is doing exactly what I prayed for: A supernatural stand alone movie.

By the way, I watched X-Files the movie last night.

OMG! This summer????? AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought for sure it would be next October, but this summer????? WOW!

In my opinion, Hulk, Iron Man, Speed Racer, The Happening, and Mummy 3 will suck horribly.

Out of all those films you listed, still unsure about IM and SR completely, but SR seems like it will be cool. Hulk is going to be GREAT though and possibly contain the BEST fight sequence of the summer, I'd be surprised if anything tops it. Have the same feelings for it as I had when I first read the BB & TF script, 'this is going to be cool.' So this Hulk is a whole new breed of anger. :bh:

do we know anything about the plot cept its not alien centered and it is set in the future

I think the teaser trailer should be mysterious at first- we can't tell it's the X-Files and then we cut to a black screen and hear Mulder and Scully- then we open up to random shots of Scully and Mulder... "trust no one Mr. Mulder." THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE.

All I know is this trailer for the majority of theater goers is going to come out of the blue and the teaser should signal that they're back!

I like the idea of showing THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE... Maybe using the opening sequence image, with the sky on the background :hyper:

I'm re-watching all the episodes since season 1 (I don't remember anything and I stopped watching the show before the end), so I will see the movie again when I finish with season 5.

Wow you have the whole collection!?

i have the movie and season one to seven, gotta get two more and im done

^You'd have to get the Lone Gunmen series too to have "all" of them.

I don't think it was better but it would be impossible to have them in a sequel since they're dead.
