World X-Men and Homosexuality: The Connection

I do feel lucky. Its awesome. I've waited a long time for this.

Long time?!

It took me only 17 years - from the time I was born, I mean. :p

No one else is in a long term, strong, healthy and loving, same-sex relationship here...?

X-Men and Homosexuality: The Connection?

Ha, how about the similarities between X-Men and Arabs living in the US...

Well, if theres enough examples and you want it so bad, then go ahead and make a thread on it.

Unless you just came in here to be an ass...

bryan singer is a 'mo???

he's hot! i call dibs!!! :) :) :)

other than being discriminated by society just for being who you are, and having to "come out" or stay "closeted" i personally don't really see any other similarities between x-men and homosexuality...

other than possibly something to do with spandex...

I dont know how to approach this post...

How about this way. The biggest thing that homosexuals face is persicution, the same thing with mutants. Mutants fear coming out, see X2.....

yeah, thats what i mean... u have the fear of persecution if you choose to be yourself, or if you're "outed" or something... but thats about as far as i can see a similarity between the two types.

maybe im more brazen or something, but i don't care if people wanna victimise me for being gay - let them try... im still going to be myself at the end of the day... at the end of the day, at least i can feel safe in the knowledge i know who i am, and what im about... there are tonnes of people out there that feel totally lost in themselves, and i think that's worse than anything anyone can think about you...

it shouldn't matter if you're black, white, tall, short, fat, thin, male or female, at least if you can say "hey, this is me..." i think you're doing okay... coz not that many people can say it with conviction!

Ok, seriously, in all honestly. Regarding homosexual rights and these new Wondercon posters....I'm loving it. I would love it if someone created an ad campaign that was as dramatic as these X3 posters but regarding gay rights. Could you just imagine how great that'd be. With those words:"TAKE A STAND"

Saw your previous post. Great! :)

I think you're making sweeping generalisations here, you know. There are some on here, including me, who are secure and comfortable and confident in sexuality and who they are.

Not many people rarely raise fuss in regards to me, and my relationship with my boyfriend. Why? Because it's no big deal. :)

Muahaha, I would love that!!!

Isn't it great JustABill? I've never wanted anything but a healthy, normal relationship, and I finally have it.

I can't believe Brokeback did not win best picture!

Hey guys, nice thread you've got going on here.

Have any of you read any of the Young Avengers comics? There's a story in the annual where one of gay characters (Wiccan) has just been beaten up for being "different," as he puts it. The Scarlet Witch then comes across him while he's crying and gives him some very encouraging words about being different and how he should embrace it. It's just a great moment. Thought I'd share.

Am I the only Gay Man that truly hated Brokeback Mountain!?

Okay, maybe not hated, that is a bit strong... But I did think that Crash was a better movie / story!

I just wanted to post this quote from this anti-gay site called 'Focus on The Family'.( http://www.pureintimacy.org/gr/homosexuality/ ) If any of you guys want to read it its as much nauseating as it is interesting. See if you can find the similiarities with this quote and the new film.

"Is this assertion true, or is homosexuality a disorder, a sign that something has gone wrong in an individual’s development? Is homosexuality something that is inevitable for a certain percentage of the world’s population, and therefore should simply be accepted, or is it a distortion or dysfunction that should be resisted, and if possible, cured?"

Its almost as if that line was lifted straight out of the script.

I'll tell you people what, when I see giant robots and the leage of evil homosexuals chasing people. I'll stop annoying people on this thread.

So because we don't have 50 foot tall, sci-fi robots killing gay people there is no similarity between the persecution and discrimination that homosexuals deal with everyday? I see. Well, in that case, I guess our superpowers don't count, or the intergalactic battles we have, or our technology borrowed from the Shi'ar. None of that stuff counts? Darn!

Oh, and we do have the "League(<-correct spelling) of Evil Homosexuals" chasing people. Their called Christian Republicans. ( www.godhatesfags.com ) Check that site out, I don't know if their is anything more evil then that.

Grow up and get real.
