Right, so you're attitude is based on 'sentiment' now, rather than anything anyone has actually said? So you're basing your opinion....on... your impression... of what you THINK they are implying...

That would not be the definition of the word sentiment as it was used.

Sentiment... You were reading their motives even though their words didn't express that completely. Dude, you're full of it. I read the last few pages, I can judge for myself using the evidence at hand. No one said anything that deserved your attitude, they were justifiable opinions.

You know the word sentiment has something like five to seven different definitions depending on how it's being used in a sentence, right?

Your prior post did not attach venom to the correct meaning of the word. That's all I was saying. Thank you.

Demo of the game. I honestly think it looks like it could be pretty fun to play. The graphics aren't breathtaking but they do the job and I love the X-cellent and stuff pops up on screen and is blown away kind of like a comic book. Yeah you can't create your own character but by having pre made characters they're able to delve in the backstory of them hopefully thus resulting a pretty rich story. Of course who knows if that will actually happen.

Jesus, that game looks horrendous graphically. Look at the ground texture in 7:10. It's like Warlock is making a cameo as the road :P It's all entirely pixelated.

I think a game like this, which looks incredibly simple in it's gameplay and design, has no excuse to not look at least at the average standard graphical level for a modern game. It looks worse than Too Human, Silicon Knights last game and it makes MUA 2 look like Gears of War. Also, they've given the attack effects and combo names cel shading or something, which would be cool if all the graphics were cel shaded, but since they're not, it makes all the attacks look 2-dimensional and flat. Seriously, they should NOT be releasing this game THIS year.

They've been using Brand X.

....we really need to stop this.

Yeah, that does look pretty fun. Looks like it has high energy, and it looks like it responds better and faster than UA or UA2 did.

The graphics look a bit rough in some places, like toward the end of the demo, and rather ok toward the beginning. It might be worth nothing the video is tagged as being the Wii Stage Demo, and things usually look more rough on the Wii. If the 360 and PS3 graphics look like that, then it got the LCD approach, and that is what it is.

y'know.........watching the demo, the game actually looks kind of fun. but I don't think it warrants a $60 purchase. I also feel like it's a game that should have come out 2 or 3 years ago.

most of all, it makes me more mad at the POTENTIAL of the game. I still think the concept of mixing and matching different mutant powers is absolutely cool. It's just that, it would have been nice to create your own character, or else be able to choose from more than just three.

maybe if this game is a hit, the sequel will offer us more options to create and customize our OWN characters. then, I will be more interested...........

Oh, that's Wii graphics? Fair enough.

As for the powers thing? Wasn't too impressed in that demo. I think it'll turn into a MUA type affair, where all energy, projectile, radial attacks handle more or less the same with different coloured animations. The combat seemed very simple, button bashy.

Some people play it for that, though. XML and UA weren't any different in that department.

I think the main drawcard for those games, that this one is missing, is 30+ playable characters and 4 players.

Could be. Time will tell.

It looks fun enough that I'll pick it up at some point after it comes out, just like I did with UA and UA2, neither of which I spent more than $30 on.

that was my point, too. It looks like it could be a fun little game, but not something to spend $60 on. A <= $30 title seems to be about right.

Yeah. Or I'll blow some Best Buy Reward Zone certificates on it, if I'm really dragging that hard for that kind of game to play whenever it's due out.

I think I just expected a bit more. A game that's maybe a bit similar to InFamous in gameplay and presentation, and not a single player, button smashy MUA.

and ya know, I honestly don't get the mixing and matching powers thing.
seems dumb to me
each character has unique abilities, the X-Men dont get to pick and add powers
ya want a good x-rpg, the characters should just get more powerful, not an entirely new set of abilities

it seems like the makers didn't even feel like making an x-men game, but they were like, "oh, we got the rights to x-men? cool...**** it...throw them in there"

I get what the creators of this is trying to do, but in all honesty they have done some dumb ass things from what we know.
1) If they want to put players into the role of a person who've just discovered they are a mutant and now have to experience the world of mutants and ultimately choose to join the X-Men or the Brotherhood, then why the hell don't they let you create that new mutant from scratch, even if you had to choose a background story? Probably the dumbest mistake they've done.
2) Letting you choose only one of three base powers and then letting you modify that power into something else as you progress in the game. There are hundreds of mutant powers in the X-Men world to choose from and letting players choose one offensive, one defensive and one latent power (like; Offensive: Optic Blasts, Def: Steel skin and Latent: Healing Factor) and then being able to evolve them and master them (like all of the X-Men have done with Prof X help) would've been a much better way of letting players make their own mutant and thus REALLY 'controlling your destiny'.

Let's hope that if this game turns out to be a good game and gets a sequal, then these are the main changes they do.

The graphics remind me of Shattered Dimensions. The Amazing dimension to be precise.

wut?
The Amasing Dimension was made to look like John Romita Jr had drawn it. I see none of that in this game. It has a simple style without a ****load of dirt and details on the clothes and surroundings that some seem to think is mandatory in every game since games like Gears of War became popular. I thought it looked a little like the graphics of Mass Effect, actually.

In the end, it isn't the graphics that make a game good, it's the controls, the choices you have and the story of the game that makes it a good game.

What? THIS game? THIS game looked like Mass Effect? Now i know I've gone insane. See you guys later, i'm off to eat some cardboard
