X-Men - Part 3

I'd be willing to try out a Gambit series as he's in my top 3 X-men. JH that Fraction/Aja promo is unrelated to this.I wonder if maybe Majorie Liu will write this as I heard she used Gambit often in X-23.

I dont' think it's been announced one way or the other if they're connected. They're both a part of a series of teasers that's going to apparently be revealed this weekend. I love the idea of Aja but not so much Fraction.

And I'd LOVE to see a Marjorie Liu written Gambit book. She did a great job with him in X-23 (best I've seen in years to be honest) and seems to be continuing his budding friendship with Cecelia Reyes over in Astonishing X-Men. I think she'd kill on a Gambit ongoing.

OMG, did anyone read today's Uncanny? I dont mind Cyclops anymore but the best moment of the year just happened.
Agent Brand found out about X-force and she's now using it to blackmail his ass
. I couldnt help but laugh at that.

Oh and Collossus relationship with Illyana gets even more creepier. I swear the dude is seriously screwed up in the head

It's pretty way overdue but she has the balls that Beast doesn't to play that hand.

This whole arc has been fantastic. Personally, I think Unit is one of the best "villains" to come through Marvel in a long time. I'm real curious to see what Gillen does with him in the future.

I just wish his name didn't make me think of penises.

I remember there was a "Unit" in Austen's mini "Eden's Trail" years ago. It was a good story but the one problem was the name he gave that character. Just name him Richard and call him Dick and I'd be cooler with it for some reason. Unit is just such a funny induendo.

Not to mention he's shaped like one.

Well... he's a long hard thing with a head... and arms. Yeah, that makes all the difference in the world. Arms.

Honestly, I hadn't even considered that. He made me think of Silver Surfer's board more than anything.

I'm actually reading Uncanny X-Men this arc because I flipped through it and saw Unit. I loved that guy in SWORD.

Ah, SWORD. :csad:

I wish I read that when it was fresh out. I got lazy and waited until it was already cancelled to pick up all 5 issues. It's was that damn donkey Beast that scared me off.

I think that scared just about everyone off. I swear, as soon as the preview art for the first issue came out, the interest in that book completely disappeared.

You know what was funny about today's Uncanny? When The Unit used pheromones on Emma and Namor so they would start banging in front of Scott. Then later, Scott told Emma he wasn't pissed but she was pissed because he wasn't upset. Man o man, Summers is just as bad with women as Peter Parker is. They should start a support group.

I'm just hoping this is building toward Emma and Scott's splitting... or better yet, Emma's death.

Daken needs to make an appearance in Gambit's solo series.

Also, Uncanny X-men 10 was my favourite so far. I love this team. But Magik and Colossus need a bigger cell! Ew!

Yep. Pete makes deals with the devil to end his marriage and he hid his secret identity from one of the best girlfriends he had. Scott ups and leaves them when another comes back and he has sex on their graves too.

I would rather Namor left.

I still don't like Hope.

I'm not sure I understand why Beast is still angery at Cyclops when he knows Wolverine is still running a X-Force kill squad.

Perhaps he expects it from Wolverine because his a killer but not Cyclops the guy he grew up and did not think it would be something Scott would do.

Because Logan told him they were the private security force for the school so the kids wouldn't have to fight.

bc Beast is a whiny hypocrital word that rhymes with witch

That's a pretty stupid reason. Beast knows Wolverine, which means he knows that what Wolverine is saying is BS. X-Force is still a kill squad. That they're killing to ostensibly protect the kids doesn't magically make it okay, especially when Beast himself and the school's other staff have already been forced into becoming an unofficial X-Men team again to deal with the Hellfire Club, the Brood, and that crazy alien scientist to protect the kids as well. Clearly, beyond just being a terrible idea that tarnishes everything about Xavier's dream, X-Force doesn't even work.

I think there's room for X-force in the X-line, as it can tell stories that other books can't tell, and there are a number of characters that fit into the darker tone. I think the problem is that while it isn't an "X-men team" it's still lead by major leaders of the X-men. I think if it existed completely separate from Scott and Logan, it wouldn't be a big deal. It might be hard for Logan because he's a main selling point for X-force, but that's what you get when the headmaster of a good-intentioned school is also judge, jury, and executioner in another team.

If it had no ties to the X-Men, sure, it'd be fine. It'd just be a bunch of renegade crazies who decided, "F*** Xavier's dream, we're gonna kill our way to mutant supremacy!" They could also cast them as the morally dubious anti-villains that they clearly are instead of trying to pretend that they're somehow not murderous psychopaths who are killing everything in their way because trying to come up with better solutions is too hard for them.

Well, Archangel was the only true psychopath... I guess you can count Deadpool. The rest don't kill because they like it or anything... they just kill because they can and are convinced its necessary, for better at worse. Remender at least shows that there are huge consequences for killing.
