X-Men - Part 3

I know I simplified things there, but it was still pretty damn sketchy. Maddy was under the impression Scott was leaving her and baby Christopher Nathan Christopher to go off adventuring with the X-Men again (which she was already against), not to see his ex. And although Scott didn't immediately try to get in Jean's... erm, jeans, he still neglected to tell her he'd gotten married while she was gone, and he'd convinced Hank, Bobby, and Warren not to mention it either.
That's the bro code dude.

just another reason why bringing Jean back was a bad idea

Wolverine is older than Namor actually. Wolverine was born in the 1880s and Namor was born 1920.

And Wolverine being essentially immortal is one of the dumbest things ever done with the character.

imortal... yes. but... long life? that actually makes sense with his mutant ability...

Yeah it is. I liked it when he could be threatened with death in the early days. Like when Shadowcat stabbed him with that katana and he almost died. Took him months to heal.

Speaking of Wolverine how is the book under Bunn?I just finished Aaron's run(Which was phenomenal.) and was wondering if I should continue with it.

Feels kinda pointless since all Bunn is doing is a filler arc before Loeb arrives.

Isn't Bunn jumping on again after Loeb is done?Seems to me like Loeb is just interrupting his run rather than ending it.

There hasn't been any official word.

It doesn't seem likely to me. He's taking over Venom and the Captain America team up book, plus he's co-writing the main Cap title. I'm guessing it's only a matter of time until Bru leaves and he takes over that as well.

I didn't know he was going to be co-writing Cap soon. I guess Marvel is going to be going through a lot of changes soon.

I really hope it means Way off Deadpool. That is REALLY overdue. I wonder what Brubaker will do once he's done with Cap.

Maybe it's time for them to cancel Deadpool and just make him a regular on a team with an occasional mini.

I have a feeling Bru might just do Winter Soldier for a while. He's been back to his old stellar form writing WS.

Yeah, Winter Soldier's been good. Captain America, conversely, has been pretty boring. It seems like Brubaker's sort of done with Steve but just doesn't want to admit it yet.

I've enjoyed this recent Scourge story in Cap. But I agree, the first arc of the new volume went a little weird and lost steam, and I lost interest with Davis's arc and never finished it.

Cap got better with the Powerless arc and this current Scourge arc. I thought Powerless was going to suck but it kinda surprised me.

Plus Alan Davis' art is pretty to look at :hrt:

The current arc is all right, although Scourge makes me sad. The previous 2 arcs have been pretty mediocre, though.

Not counting the art because Alan Davis is a god among men.

Asides from Winter Soldier, I just can't see Brubaker writing mainstream superhero books for the time being. He seems really focused on indie stuff right now.

I think Davis's art is a little dated. I'm so used to guys like Epting, Guice, Eaton, etc. drawing Cap, seeing Davis draw him felt like I was reading cap from 1981.

No, but I liked the down to earth/espionage tone I'd always gotten with Brubaker's Cap up to that point, and with Davis it's like the complete opposite of that.

Brubaker has said in several interviews that he's been trying to touch on each era of Cap these days, which is a signal of him winding down on his run. That's why we're seeing Gruenwald characters like D-Man and Diamondback now.

All the espionage stuff is strictly in Winter Soldier now.
