X-Men - Part 3

XTreme has a version of Wolverine in it so I will seriously have to consider reading this new title even if Dazzler is the main focus.

I cant say I care any more for the title knowing that. I guess the plus side is that there might not be anymore vampire stories

I love Brian Wood, but his choice of which Marvel titles to write is rather puzzling.

I kinda doubt even Brian can pull X-Men and Ultimate X-Men out of their respective mediocrity.

I'm skipping the current Astonishing arc and X-treme branching from that doesn't make me want to read it. I also didn't read the Ghost Box mini that came out of the title back during Ellis' run, so that version of Emma (or any Emma) does nothing for me either. I'm also not a fan of Sepolvia's art, or whatever his name it.

I like Dazzler but not enough to buy what'll likely be a $4 comic for her. I'm a little relieved actually. I thought I was going to have to buy yet another X-title but I won't and I wont' even feel like I'm missing something. Sweet!

I dropped X-Men a while ago and I don't know much about Brian Wood. Normally I'd try out a new writer to see what he's got but I need to scale back.

We'll see how I feel at the time but I'll probably try it out. I like the cast and I'm already buying the book anyway, might as well give it a test arc.

I won't bother with an alternate reality book, I've dropped a bunch of titles as it is. Well, unless they change their mind and put Gambit in it after all... :p

Seems alot of alternate reality stuff lately in X-books with X-Factor, X-Force, New Mutants and Astonishing X-Men.

Factor and Force aren't alternate realitys so far as I knew.....? They might go to some place where alternates exist, but regulars are featured in the book itself.

That's what he meant. The Xbooks have been dealing with a lot of alternate reality stories lately

Guess that happens when you can't come up with ideas anymore. :(

It's not all alternate reality. The 616 Dazzler will be the main character, with various alternate reality characters as the supporting characters, namely the ones from Pak's Astonishing X-Men arc.

wasnt that pretty much how New Exiles was set up? Alternate reality characters with one 616 X-man (oh wait 2). That was pretty much skippable

Well, that was also written by Claremont, so "skippable" was pretty much a given just for that.

These two are totally the new Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver

Gillen sure loves killing innocent bystanders in Uncanny X-Men. Can't remember a superhero book were almost every weak men, women and children get killed on page by the villains before the heroes can stop them.

I guess you've never read The Authority or anything by Millar for that matter.

People need to give Claremont a slight break. He was awesome for like 15-20 years. :o

So was Michael Jordan, but he eventually realized he couldn't keep up with the game anymore. I get Claremont loves these characters but maybe he's better suited in a plotter or editor position.
