I slowly lost interest. I liked the first and seeing the interrogation in the second, then I started losing interest after that. By the time they explored his origin and that piece in the end with the future Superman and whoever he was with I just didn't care. Plus I'm not a big Supes fan to begin with.

I can see not liking the future arc. There was something about it that I couldn't get into. I think it was the art. After Rags' issues, Kubert's style was off putting for me.

There's a little contest going on over on another site to guess all these. I've forgotten my password to their forum and all that, so I'm probably not going to enter, but I'm trying to figure out who they are left to right, for fun. I think I've got some already:

1. Tarot?
2. Catseye
3. Kylun
4. Sunder
5. ?
6. Gosamyr
7. ?
8. ?

The site is UncannyXmen.net and these are all characters who haven't received special bios or profiles that cover their entire comic appearances yet. So they likely won't be any of the higher profile names.

I know Kylun was in first volume of Excalibur and Gosamyr was in New Mutants during the Bret Blevins days, the rest I don't know.

Tarot and Catseye were members of the original Hellions. Sunder was a Morlock who was a part of the Muir Island X-Men.

Marrow already has a spotlight on her on the site, so it's not her.

Empath is a good guess. I was also starting to lean towards Rusty Collins.

Pestilence is the best guess I've seen for 8.

The site does in depth profiles on various characters in the X-World. These ones are all getting profiles on them soon, and the first one to ID all of them correctly will get to choose a character to have a full spotlight done for them in the future.

That line produced so many obscure characters before they did the active members of the team. They did a Tusk figure before they did a Rogue, Jean Grey or Psylocke figure.

I wish we still got toys like that, based entirely off the comics. Now there's basically no chance a character will ever get a toy unless they appear in whatever cartoon or movie is hot at the moment.

I grew up with those toys. Sadly, a lot of them got lost or destroyed when I moved several years ago. It's actually pretty hard to find some of them for decent prices.

I'm still at a loss for 1. I'm still positive on all the others I posted above, and I also now know for certain that 7 is Zeitgeist, a member of the X-Statix team. But the hints for 5 and 8 look so familiar but I can't place them at all and it's bugging the hell out of me.
