X-Men - Part 4

May I ask what everyone thought of Schism? The UK CEs are going on it now and I was wondering what it was like.
Also, what is happening with Emma right now?

Hawkingbird you've mentioned before that you're always a year or two behind, how come if you're in UK? Are you somewhere rural 'cos the comics are readily available in London at same time as they come out in US...?

Schism was the best thing to happen to the X-Men in a looong time

Agreed. The mini was great and the 2 main books that came out of it (Uncanny & WaTX) offered different yet great new takes on the Xmen

Schism was great for one reason and one reason only....it got the X-Men back at the school where they belong and we have a great comic because of it.

And Emma is still hanging with Scott's team in All New X-Men.

After AvX Emma was sent to prison. After Cyclops, Magneto, and Magik break her out they discover she no longer has her telepathy. She's still pissed at Cyclops after what he did to her, but they still work together for their mutuals goals.

Emma no longer has her telepathy? The F?

I'm calling it now: If Emma doesn't get her telepathy back somewhere down the line, it's going to turn out that's not the real Emma.

Three of the phoenix five powers are messed up since AVX. Cyclops, Emma Frost and Colossus. Magneto's powers are messed up as well. Magick is more powerful now. I don't know if anything is wrong with Namor.

How are their powers messed up? I thought I heard something about Cyclops no longer being able to control his powers, but that sounds like an average Tuesday for him.

We don't know yet. Whenever Cyclops blasts the beam goes wild. Magento's powers seem weakened. Emma no longer has telepathy, though I'm pretty sure her diamond form is still intact. If I remember correctly, in Cable and X-Force Colossus seems to be having trouble reverting back to human form, and when he does it isn't complete.

The UK release Collector's Editions, which are a group of 70 page comic book titles (ex- Avengers, X Men, Spider-Man, Mighty World of Marvel ect) which follow the major storylines. The good thing is that you often have one or two stories in a comic (the major ones usually have one), but unfortunately they're behind the US. Google it, they're good value for money :)

Yeah, Scott cant control his blasts, Emma only has diamond form (though I think her telepathy just went into a latent stage). Though you would think that one of them would also have the gift of their ability become stronger like Magiks. Though I would like it if after all of this, Scott finally gets complete control and doesnt always have to wear shades to contain his blasts.

After Whedon's "Unstoppable," I just spent all this time assuming Scott could temporarily control his powers before eventually needing his visor again.

I still don't understand what happened to Scott's powers in that story. But even if he does eventually have complete control over his powers I think he will still wearing the visor just because it's so iconic. He just won't freak out the next time it gets knocked off his face.

I thought that was wierd too. The excuse given was that he had spent too much time with them that it apparently effected him, which makes some sense. He was with them more than the other X-Men.

Was he? I guess that was in other comics. I don't remember seeing Magneto around much in AvX once the Phoenix Five got juiced up.

Looks like Bachalo isn't on Uncanny X-Men after all. Color me curious now.

Why are Magneto's powers messed up? He wasn't one of the Phoenix Five.

He got his powers back due to Celestial experimentation. They should just say thats backfiring on him

What happened? His name's all over the ads for it.

He's still on, he just read it wrong. Frazier Irving was announced today to be doing the second arc.

Yeah, I realized late last night that I was wrong about that. Oh well.

I was disappointed at first because I didn't like Irving's Silent War. Then I remembered that I'm not a HUGE Bachelo fan (though he's alright at times) and I shrugged.

And then the article I read reminded me that Irving did Morrison's final arc on Batman & Robin, which I LOVED and now I'm excited :) I'm just not sure if the feel of Uncanny will fit Irving's art as well as that last arc of B&R.

I'm so convoluted.

Eh, I like both of those artists but I never had a snowball's chance in Hell of reading Uncanny X-Men in the first place. Cyclops continuing to be an immoral *****e, a team of the most morally ambiguous faux-heroes to ever call themselves X-Men, and Bendis writing? Yeah, that was never gonna work for me. :oldrazz:
