Gotta get my Gambit fix somehow. :D

Guess who shows up again, finally, in the last issue of X-Factor:

I have no clue who that is. I don't read X-Factor. (Yeah, I know.....I suck.)

He's a character who's plagued the team since the beginning of the series, so it's interesting for the fans who've stuck with the book to see him show up in the last issue.

I read the book for the first 30 issues and don't recall him. When did he first appear and whats his name?

Damian Tryp. He first appeared in the second issue as a part of that rival investigation agency that tried to wipe X-Factor out, and has popped up off and on throughout the series.

Oh I recall that name. That's Tryp? Didnt he look a lot younger? I remember him looking more like Madrox and not like Zeus unless Im thinking of someone else

That was him too. Part of his power is being able to jump through time to exist with his other versions. There were three of him in the beginning, two younger versions, and this one.

Ugh, I just read some Battle of the Atom spoilers for the issue coming out today....I'm pessimistic to say the least.

I read Battle of the Atom # 1 and liked it. Frank Cho's art is gorgeous and the story is intriguing. While elements of DOFP and AOA are present, and as one could argue, diminish the originality of the narrative some, I was grinning like an idiot the whole I was reading.

Okay why is no one talking about the MASSIVE revelation from yesterday?

:woot: Its about damn time. She's finally back and she better stay

Because it's a time travel story and I'm not taking the return seriously. Even the comic news sites aren't batting an eye. I'm assuming this is the full-grown Jean Grey if the O5 Jean stays in the current time (notice how young she appears next to Kitty, who is supposed to be younger than her). And something here will fix that timeflux and this Jean will go away.

Aka... it's A Jean, but it's not THE Jean.

Current Kitty is only like 5 years older than TeenJean give or take a couple of years. if TeenJean stays in this timeline she'd be much older than we are seeing. This future Kitty looks like she's in her 50s so Jean would have to be close to that age as well.

The story they are trying to sell with this crossover is that the O5 cant remain without massive ramifications to the timestream. She has to go back to the past eventually or some big temporal disruption will occur as we are starting to see. She's going to go back to the past and somewhere over the course of her life, she makes her way to the future. Her interactions with Storm and Rachel seemed way too personal and affectionate to simply just be Teen Jean. This Jean is someone that knows them and knows the intimately, which leads me to believe she will go on to lead the life of 616 Jean which she is intended to. Maybe after Xorn kills her she isnt resurrected till much later in the future, which would attribute to her relatively young age in comparison to the other future X-men.

Eh, maybe. But I've been burnt too many times on Jean returns to hold my breath. We'll see how it plays out.

Also the remark regarding her wearing Xorn's helmet. She seemed to have known personally the significance of that person to the X-Men and it wouldn't seem that Teen Jean would have worn it by choice.

But teen jean remembers everything thanks to reading Beast's mind, including how she died. She'd know all about Xorn.

She saw it, yes, but I don't think it's the same as her living it. Did they say that she saw her future or that she relived it. I don't remember. I feel like it makes sense that it would be our Jean wearing the helmet because it would be personally significant to her and she would have her reason, whatever that may be. If it were Teen Jean, knowing how scared she is of her own future, I feel she wouldn't want anything to do with the image that killed her.

One thing I will say, I found it odd that she would say "My name is Jean Grey" when she greats them. If it was our Jean I feel like she'd say "Miss me?", "Hi guys!", or something more personal. Again, I'm not 100% convinced but it seems very plausible.

I want to know how Iceman becomes that behemoth.

Right!!! He's never gave any indication of turning into something more than human. Something really messed up had to have happened to make that happen.

Iceman has used his powers in the past to augment his size and strength. In fact he's currently been doing that in recent books. He's been trapped in his ice form before so trapped in ice form while being bulky doesn't seem farfetched
