X3 defenders thread

awwww, i havent seen that in years!

and everytime i see it, man, the marvel legends of old were soo bad ass!

Never liked those posters. They look like posters for "Rent" or some AIDS awareness thing.

Personally, I didn't like the film at all. It wasn't "Manos: The hands of Fate" or something like that, I just thought it was soullessly and rapidly slapped together. But I can appreciate its merits.

It's easy to take liberties if you still show a respect towards the character . The way they handled Cyclops was innapropriate. He was a major character and written off poorly.

Okay I hadn't seen this movie in ages, but since "X-Men Origins Wolverine" is about to be released, I took this past week to watch the three X-Men movies. I think X3 it's okay, it's good, except for two things:
1. Jean killing everybody. I mean, come on! It's too much to handle, even for the general audience. The fact that she kills not only her boyfriend but also her mentor, gives you this feeling of weirdness during the rest of the movie. If the guy that plays Cyclops had other stuff to do, well he shouldn't! That's why he sigened a contract, so he could be available fo the damn movie.
2. This one is a minor thing, but Storm was definetely different from the other two movies, and I don't mean only the hair. Her whole attitude, and that's just so weird. It's like it was someone else. Even the look on her face was different.
But besides that, I really enjoyed the movie. Some people complain that there were too many characters, but I don't see the problem in that. I loved Archangel and Beast was awesome, specially in the final fight scene. Colossus was great too, specially with the fastball special, or something like that. It was great too see the Juggernaut and Jamie (Multiple man or something) too. I just wished they would have kept Rogue's hair like in the previous 2 movies, 'cause it didn't look so good on her all straight. It was also great to see the Danger Room and a sentinel. So yeah, that's what I think.

Storm's attitude changed from film to film period. Each film was basically a different character. In X2 and X3 she even lost the accent she had in X1.

I still love that she got her suit and became a full fledged member of the X-Men on their flight to Washington. Honestly the only time I felt Rogue had any confidence in the entire trilogy was in X-2 when she was going to go after Magneto in the X-Jet after he made the comment about liking what she did with her hair.

Agreed, she was my favourite character in the cartoon, and I couldnt wait to see her go onto bigger and better things in X3 after her great and confident showing in X2. Ratner, Fox et al ****ed that right up.

IMO it felt like Storm evolved into Halle Berry by the time X3 came out. I know people complained about her accent in X1 but to this day I still wish she would have worked on it and used the accent for the rest of the series, it helped make the character feel a little more like Storm and less like Halle Berry.

i kinda feel that way. i wouldnt say X3 is better, but i think its more entertaining.

I enjoyed the movie, but I wish they'd make an extended cut with all the deleted scenes added in.

Ok I don't get all the rogue and how she was portrayed in X3 hate. At the very beginning Of the film I took note at what I thought was a very confident rogue when she says 'you're a guy bobby your minds only on one thing' the way Paquin delivered that line was great, it was a big step up from the rogue of the first film I could not see her feeling comfortable/confident enough to say that. I think some people think her taking the cure was a step back in her confidence but to me it wasn't. Only a few individuals in real life would want to keep that "gift", to not be able to touch your family and friends with out killing/seriously hurting them would suck. For someone her age the choice made in the film was appropiate, it would even be appropiate if she was an adult.

For the longest time I couldn't wait for a studio to make an X-men movie so we could get a kick-a** Rogue, unfortunately that never happened and by the third movie I was not surprised they had her take the cure, IMO it fit with the character we got in the previous movies.

it would be great if we ever get an X4 if we see Rogue helping an unconscious Carol Danvers (CPR or just carrying her). since we know the cure isnt permanent, her powers suddenly come back and she'd accidentally steal her powers. maybe make Danvers a government "artificial" mutant to make the transfer permanent. we could finally have the Rogue we all remember.

I thought they could have Rogue get really sick from her body rejecting the cure and have her sent to Muir Island where Carol Danvers could be a nurse or a doctor who tries to help her, but during a convulsion Rogue accidently grabs onto her and is unable to pull herself off so she gets Carols powers and mind, later on a recovering Professor Xavier who is also on Muir Island could help contain the Carol Danvers personality much like he did with Jean..

That's a pretty cool idea actually.

if *Singer* was still on board w/his X3 Rogue's powers would have evovled since his film focused on evolution, i.e. Jean n2 Phoenix

I think this would've been better instead of bringing in Ms.Marvel
