Anybody who watches this show...what is the main character Umi (or something like that) supposed to be? Is he human?

He has the usual "vague asian martial artist foreigner" accent. But his skin is yellow. I don't mean tan I mean straight up yellow. This could very easily be offensive to people but none of the other asian characters are colored like him so it makes me think he's something else. That and the fact that he doesn't have a nose. He's basically an emoticon with a body. Has his past been explored? Is he an alien or something?

What is Umi? oh thats a simple question he's a clone.

Really? A clone of who?

Of this guy.

Heh. Heh.

Anybody with a serious answer?

Seriously...hes just an offensive stereotype....

Yah even though everyone else looks realitively normal, all the kids are exaggerated stereotypes. You have the American/Cowboy/Texan, the girl who I think is supposed to be Japanese with all that wild flair and the Mexican kid.

raimundo is brazilian not mexican and the little monks name is OMI not umi

It is embarasing to watch when they have stereotypes of people from your country on shows, like that episode on the Simpsons where they go to Australia. Are they dissing us & hoping we won't do anything?

Man, they're all the same.

I'm just kidding! I'm hispanic. :o But that does make more sense for him to be Brazilian.

Stereotyping is an easy form of comedy, because everyone has their own perceptions of other people that are sometimes true. It's like the fart joke, guarrented to atleast get you a few giggles.

In terms of stereotyping, the Aussies have it pretty good. Everyone thinks you guys are badass crocodile wrestlers.
