xXx: The Return of Xander Cage

I have been wait for this, for a long time...the thing is the extreme sports game has changed a lot in the last decade. Its definitely become more mainstream, I wonder if they will incorporate that into the story.

You know the history of sports like freestyle motorcross had roots in the meth trade and Aryan brotherhood, they were created by wild men bad boys, whatever you want to call them. now people like pastrana and deegan are born again christians who wont touch anything that could harm their image and detract from what has become a million dollar franchise.

Your lying, no one has been waiting for a XXX sequel.

Supernova, no one wanted to see a continuation of the Ice Cube xXx film. They wanted a follow-up with Vin Diesel in the lead.

I would have watched a sequel to the original xXx but made the mistake of seeing the sequel with Ice Cube, not knowing better. Now I will see a sequel if only for Vin's character Xander to come back and kill off Ice Cube's in the most humiliating and ridiculous way possible.

The first was alright and second was just whatever but yeah I'd check out a new sequel if Vin returns

LOL, you mean like Toho did with the way Godzilla disposed of "Zilla" in 10 seconds or whatever? Yeah, that would be awesome. :woot:

I didnt say another ice cube lead one ethier. Im saying no one in 2002 came out of XXX saying "man bring me another". Besides we have mission impossible delivering the goods the 1st and even god awful 2nd failed to do. A new film would already be schooled before even getting out the driveway. Not too mention vin really has only been doing the furious films for the better part of a decade and the last riddick film wasnt a cash cow so Im not ready to say his name can sell a movie and put arses in the seats.

You might not remember it, but there were people who enjoyed the first one and wanted a sequel. Roger Ebert said it was as good as a Bond film. So yeah, now, it's quite possible no one would go see it. But had Vin starred in a sequel in 2004/2005, it probably would have been a hit.

I just don't get it. over 10 years ago they made an awful XXX sequel that bombed. Now they are trying again with Vin Diesel. But hasn't the boat kinda sailed on XXX? The film was basically trying to say James Bond types were part of a bygone era and obsolete, so replace him with a tough-talking, anti-authority, playstation-playing extreme sports star. I mean...isn't the whole EXTREME style sort of old hat and passe at this point?

Just saying, the XXX concept is dated. Look at those trailers for the Point Break remake. characters like James Bond can actually evolve with the times. Same with Jason Bourne. XXX seemed to come around when the whole EXTREME style was dying out.

This one is probably wishful thinking.

Bollywood Star Joins Third "xXx" Feature

Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone is rumored to have joined the cast of "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage". The Indian actress would play Vin Diesel's new love interest in the project.
The Indian daily newspaper Deccan Herald reported yesterday the actress will play the female lead. This has all been prompted by a photo she posted of herself peering over the shoulder of a bald man that looks like Diesel. At the same time the iconic xXx logo is in the background.
Shortly after her publicist posted on social media (via Movieweb): "Am so so proud of this girl. What an announcement... What a journey it has been".
Diesel reportedly worked hard to get Padukone to co-star in "Furious 7" but scheduling conflicts prevented it. Shooting on the next "xXx" film will take place in the Philippines with D.J. Caruso helming, but a start of production date has yet to be set.

Hopefully this plays better then the original. Outside of Asia Argento, there wasn't much to like imo.

Yeah the first one was pretty average in the end, and I never even bothered with the sequel, so I really don't know why they bothering with this. Caruso is a decent choice though, but wasn't he doing GI Joe 3?

Things have been so silent on that front that it's quite possible he's forgotten about it!:o

They should just reveal that Xander aka xXx is just the Superhero alter ego of Dom Torreto. (Would explain Dom's superhuman like resistance to harm)
Boom! :woot:

Just kidding by the way.:o

Jet Li and especially Tony Jaa being in this instantly makey me even more interested in this.

So what's going to happen to the characters played by Asia Argento and SLJ?

My guess is that Paramount and Hasbro are still trying to figure out how they can reintroduce all the properties as part of their shared action figure Hasbro universe.
