is statutory rape religated to intercourse only? if so, then no. just a series of close calls.

Maybe you feel too conservatively about the word.

Whatever, dude. People say they hate the most minor **** that should barely register nowadays. Most of them don't even know what real hate is.

I'm sure many people know what 'real hate' is. The word has simply become a figure of speach and an easy way to discribe things that upset you.

I assume (from your avatar) your talking about racism (and worse forms). However hate doesn't need a system or to be acted on to exist. Racism, Nazi Germany, and the Inquisition all were simply hate existing within a system that allowed for the free and total expression of it. Can we honestly say if Hitler had simply existed as an extremist politician out of the mainstream in Nazi Germany he would NOT have hated the Jewish peoples. Even though being in the fringe expressing this hate would have been to his detrement?

What about venial sin. Does hate have to exist only in large eloborate schemes. Could it not be that some people are just better at managing their "hates".

Does hating something always have to follow a grand action?

I've met tons of people like that. My old roommates new roommate, at a party last weekend, told me how much he hated this reasonably hot girl there. When I asked why, he said: "Cause she says she likes Tool, but I asked her some stuff and she doesn't know **** about Tool."
I'm sorry, but I can relate. If they say the like a band, they would generally know something about them. That's what you call a poser/fake/follower. He just asked her that to test her if she was original. Now days, its cool to say I like 'such-and-such' only to look nonchalant.

I'm guessing you also hate me for the same reasons, but that's cool.

What ever happened to liking music for music? What you do is promote a popularity contest based on knowledge of a band. You can just as easily study everything about a band to "pretend" to be "in". A real fan would be encouraging people who are taking an interest to learn more about them, not calling them posers like someone who cares more about social stature than they do music. Real people know who the real posers are.

Sorry man, Its just the way I am. I probably didn't word it correctly in my first post but its not that they are posers. Its that they would rather fake it than like what they like and be who they are. I promise you, you know something about bands you like. It's probably a more self-security thing but whatever, it is what it is.

...People in the gym who are scrawny (or not) who think they are the *****. I saw three guys in there on Sunday. One rather chubby, one who is competiting this summer (Not that he is anyone's competition...not symmetric or shredded enough to even consider it), and one who is just plain small. All training completely wrong, with bad form and all. Flexing and lifting up their shirts in front of the mirror. I don't notice them act like this when everyone else is around. But I guess when the place only has two other folks training you can get away with it.

You know what I despise even worse than people who know everything there is to know about a subject? People who don't know JACK SH1T about a subject but act like they do. Gym rats are notorious for doing this, and the guys you described above are a prime example. Know it all poseurs are a kabillion times more annoying that know it all's who actually kinda do know a lot.

Have you guys seen those bumper stickers that say :
"W

"F
The president"...I ****ing almost pissed myself. I want one lol.

I don't need to know the name of Kerry King's 11th grade English teacher, but I would like to know his motivation for some of Slayer's songs.

The proper question is "what is fash?" The answer is, fash is something you get on. I would assume it is short for fascism.

I like the clothes, but the commercials annoy the crap out of me.
Except for the one with the girls jumping into the air like superheroes.

I'm a huge music lover (all types of ****). I know some things about Floyd, The Stones and Broken Social Scene, but that's about it. That doesn't mean I can't say that I really like radiohead or blind melon or tool or the mars volta etc, etc without being a poser. It's different if you walk around acting like you know about things you don't, but to just say you dig a band doesn't mean you should have to know their lead singers shoe size.

But you should have at least a basic grasp of the band's history.

These guys definitely did not know much. Worst part is one of them is a trainer.

Trainers are usually the worst offenders.
