Damn it’s been so long that I forgot the Young Guns 2 implied that both Doc and Chavez died. For some reason I thought they survived. I must have been getting it mixed up with the end of the first one.

'Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive' to film in New Mexico, directed by Emilio Estevez

The New Mexico Governor's office made the announcement Thursday, saying the next chapter of the iconic Western will be titled "Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive" and will be directed by the star of the franchise Emilio Estevez.

Estevez is set to reprise his role as Billy the Kid, and will be joined by original cast members Lou Diamond Phillips, who played José Chávez y Chávez, and Christian Slater, who played David "Dirty Dave" Rudabaugh.

I guess Kiefer Sutherland opted out?
