Your Thoughts on Juggernaut?

Juggs was such a punk in this film. That wasn't the rightperson to portray him AT ALL. His voice didn't sound scary at all and that is what gave it away most. He said something like "I don't swim" like a little *** and I jst didn't like him because he didn't give all of a scary vibe.:o

I thought that Juggernaut was one of the better parts of the film.

He's definatley my favorite non-Magneto villian in the trilogy... seeing as I have never liked Mystique, she doesn't qualify. Magneto turning his back on her is one of my favorite scenes in the trilogy :)

I'm not really sure what it was - but for me - everything about Juggernaut seemed right. Everything from making him a mutant to his end, it worked. His costume pulled itself off as well, despite my initial worries. I'm very much a Movie-Verse Juggernaut Fan.

My only complaint with the Juggernaut character was how he was taken out.

I mean, come on! It's the Juggernaut, *****! I don't care if he is a mutant, and Leech is nearby. Juggernaut, of all people, is not rendered out for the count because he runs into a wall! That's just not right!

Whatever happened to the animated series version of Juggernaut, where it took an entire team effort just to get his helment off so Jean could telepathically attack his mind? Okay, so Jean was a nutcase and Xavier was in a million little pieces back at Jean's old house, but they still could have had a team effort of taking him out, not having Kitty move out of his way as he slams into a wall :(

Other than that, Juggernaut was pretty much on point. That's all Juggernaut is is a walking one liner, so I don't understand the complaints over his dialogue.

See, I liked how he was taken out. Sure, it isn't anything that would happen to traditional Juggs, but because of the restrictions in the film (and in the big case; reality), it makes sense for Leech's power to affect him. I really think it was clever. I mean, it was something I wouldn't have thought of doing.

Obviously it was realistic... but I don't think it was clever. It's Juggernaut of all people.

I understand the mutant thing, and the Leech negating his power thing... but it's just not right to see JUGGERNAUT taken out by running into a wall :(

Juggernaut should have been a force of nature. Instead he was... well, he was Rhino-lite.

Dropped everyone??? An army consisting merely of Magneto and Mystique?
Not much of an army...
*sigh* well i didnt mean the entire army. I meant the glorious appearances of Arclight, Quills, Psylocke, Juggernaut and Callisto. I wish i could see Mystique fighting more X-men than Wolverine.

I see... But his army did have to have other characters, and some of them did need to be more than blurred faces in the distance. I don't think these secondary characters were meant to be developed or otherwise explored, they were hardly referred to by name; they were just henchmen, followers and sidekicks who aided him and who were chosen by the writers for their powers (being henchmen, their characters/personalities etc didn't really matter that much).

I wondered myself why Quill was in it, but he was there for diversity, to show a physical mutation and because Marvel suggested him to the writers for inclusion in the movie as a good visual.

Mystique's speed, strength and acrobatic agility means she will always be paired only against someone with powers that make them a good match.

You know how Juggernaut was taken out, I didn't think it would work. Juggernuat's not a mutant, is he? Didn't he get his powers from a crystal or something? If that's so, then Leech's power shouldn't have worked on him.

in the movie he was a mutant, but, I’d still stay even without his powers he still had his hamlet on, and is still a very large and strong guy
if his size and strength is part of his mutation, it would of been kinda interesting to see him shrink down to a skinny guy, when he lost it powers lol
but, the movie, and that scene still totally work for me.:woot:

His helmet ("hamlet" :p), unlike his comic counterpart, played no part in giving him power. I assumed it was for an additional defense and to block off mental attacks much like Magneto's. From the looks of the raw thing, it seemed not to have very comfortable padding, and the weight of it would probably do Juggernaut in without his powers (you'd think he'd realize he lost his power once he felt the helmet's heaviness).

I agree, it would have been cool to see some X-Men actually fighting him, but, without Jean, there'd be no use. I think it was great how they effectively used Leech as well as Juggernaut's own wreckless destruction against him.

well, none of this really makes an excuse for the lack of Mystique...at least in my opinion. It was one of the (many) flaws i saw in the movie. Wasting one of the greatest characters created in the trilogy, and in such a poor way...

Watching Mystique shrivel away into non-mutantness and watching Magneto walk away from her made me very happy, knowing I'd never have to see her again.

:)

good for you.

Nell is one of those loyalists who enjoys absolute crap. The fact that Mystique was removed in the lamest and most ridiculous ways possible is another reason why this film sucks.

Mystique has always been one of my favorites in the comics and in the films. Just watching her play mind games, own soldiers, and own Wolverine in the first film is what really draws me to her. It also doesn't hurt that Rebecca does an excellent job with the role too.

But unlike a few loyalists here in this particular forum, I don't accept mediocre material and accept a piece of crap depiction of JINO(Juggernaut In Name Only).

I would've loved to have seen Mystique in the final battle. Maybe Mystique vs. Kitty? Mystique vs. Wolverine again? Or maybe even Mystique vs. Storm?

Could've been interesting. Such a shame they completely screwed Rebecca over.

You are an absolute **** and continue to agitate things in here.

Althought I do agree Mystique was wasted. She was a great character in the movies and obviously played an important role. It would have been better had she taken a dart for Magneto in the final battle perhaps. After battling with Kitty or some soldiers as you mention.

I was fine with Juggernaut's depiction in the movie as I expected them to dumb him down. That costume, particularly that helmet, is just cringe-worthy and I don't know how anyone would think it actually looks good, much less passable, expecially for a $200 Million production.

It's a shame the ignore function doesn't work against other posters quoting said board member on ignore list :(

Even with him on ignore, I still have to see the blatant idiocy that is LastSunrise.

I love how I started out as a poster he respected, because of my "intelligence" when debating the movie, but as soon as my views get to a point that he doesn't accept, I'm a loyalist all of a sudden.

:)

I don't have a problem with the costume.

When it was first revealed, someone even posted a picture directly from the comics in which Juggernaut looked EXACTLY as he does in the movie, so it's not like his appearance is unfaithful or anything.

I'm frankly not a big fan of this character but I guess he was ok in the movie.

He just cannot accept it that at least one person on here liked the movie. I love to argue and I will defend this "good" movie until I die or leave the boards out of boredom. There are a bunch of people on here I constantly disagree with on certain subjects but don't degrade them on a personal level as to try to make myself look cooler. He is a d!ck and will always be one on here.

p.s. Juggy looked good.
