If anything, the relationship on both sides seems to be souring, especially with these little jabs Zack has been putting out here and there (I don’t blame him at all, it was their problem that they decided to bring him back and then kick him out after they realized that they didn’t want to go in that direction)

Nothing about this tells me that they want to revisit this at all. I’d imagine both sides just want to move on from this whole thing as soon as possible.

If Zack and WB are gonna continue working together, I don’t think they’d approach him to do his own cut, followed by him rejecting them and continuing to throw potshots like he’s been doing as of recently.

I’m honestly surprised he still has an office on the WB lot after being supposedly let go from the project. Certainly a unique situation if he continues to make films for WB. I hope he does though. I’m interested in seeing The Last Photograph as well as The Fountainhead.

I would actually like to see him move to Netflix. They seem to give their directors a lot of freedom. Its best for both sides. WB doesnt have to keep gambling money on a director who makes divisive films, and Zack doesnt have to work with people who mess with his work. Two DC directors have already moved there, Ayer and Reeves. The only downside for me is I cant see the films on the big screen.

I’d love to see him do something low budget and more intimate. But then I think of something like Altered Carbon and immediately wonder what a guy like Zack could do for their catalogue.

He can work for Netflix and WB both, it's not mutually exclusive.

I would say he should do some movies for Netflix and take a break from Studio released movies for a while and then come back (to whatever Studio he wants) and then make Fountainhead or The Last Photograph.

As for his office on WB lot, I think it will be there till WW 2 gets released as he is still the Producer and many people who work with him are working on WW 2 (stunt crew, trainers, photographer).

I wish Zack would go back to making shorter and leaner and meaner action movies like 300 again. I think that works better for his director sensibility then trying to make big bloated "epic" movies that are poorly paced.
