This last one I think it's photoshopped. But if you google, Zendaya has used very different hairstyles, and she looks absolutely gorgeous in all of them. I'm sure she would rock a red hair.

I think the latter one is real; I remember it being the cover image for when sites first started talking about her being cast as MJ and the proverbial everyone lost their sh*t in the negative way.

Seems like a wide stretch just to try and fix something that they were confident enough to put together in the first place. and i kinda don't believe for a second that Marvel will get that far with Spidey in the MCU.

infact Id believe Michelle would become Spider-women way before id believe she would become MJ as people know her in the comics.

Point is, even if Michelle becomes de facto love interest for Peter in the MCU, it doesn't mean people have to like it. The real MJ character has been screwed around in the comics for the past decade, and her last live-action appearance was more than 10 years ago.

Thank god that PS4 Spidey didn't throw the character under the bus or made her a weird amalgamation.

Making her MJ was the one thing I just couldn't stand by in the film. It was a poorly chosen, wtf cringe moment that took me out of the film and had the audience confused. What's wrong with just being a new character? Very similar to that Robin nonsense in DKR.

I actually liked her character but really hope they just stick with Michelle.

She's not Mary Jane...Feige already said that. She just has her initials. Her actual name is Michelle (Jones?). Really, the character has no resemblance to any version of Mary Jane that I'm aware of, so she would be MJINO, at best.

Its fair to say they likely went out their way to find her a name with those initials. Whether it was all just for one MJ joke or a wink to her taking on a love interest role... who knows.

May have been easier just making liz the love interest for the trilogy.

I don't understand the hate for Michelle. She had some of the best moments in the film. Don't say it's because they're make her "MJ". That's not an excuse to dislike her character

Personally I just didn't think she was particularly funny, or interesting, so when she has her joke reveal that her "friends" call her MJ, it just falls flat. It's more of a WTF moment, which is maybe what they were going for, but...Eh

Michelle in the first movie does kind of feel like a character that is supposed to be kind of a hidden main character, a character who will become more important in later films, that's why she was focused on more than most of the other students or than you would expect (and she maybe already has some kind of secret already that she likes that others don;t know about). I think she acts like she's attracted to Peter or thinks Peter is attracted to her or would be if she acted just a little differently.

It might be a decent adaptation idea that with comics MJ becoming a model/supermodel movie MJ instead becomes a talented illustrator or fashion designer, her secret was that she already was talented in that and she succeeds in the sequels.

She's not Mary Jane...Feige already said that. She just has her initials.

But she may still be the main love interest. That would make more sense than Betty suddenly becoming it (she was really overlooked in Homecoming) and probably more than (also different-from-the-comics) Gwen suddenly being it although Gwen might be another possible or temporary interest.

Yeah. Woke MJ was hardly a highlight in Homecoming, but they screwed up most of Peter's supporting cast also. Ned and May were good at least. I would have had Liz back instead since she was more important to the movie and seeing the fallout from her finding was a supervillain would have potentially given the writers a lot they could do with the character, but they threw that away in the end of Homecoming by making it clear she was leaving sooooo...

Hopefully they give her a personality this time and she's not just some weird background character.

As for Peter/Michelle, well it seemed obvious to me that she was interested in him in the last movie and just didn't want to openly admit it. So it's just a matter of him reciprocating, which might very well happen given that they've presumably spent far more time around each other since then.
