🤛 Official UFC Thread - Part 8

Apparently Werdum boomeranged Colby Covington if you guys haven't heard.

Mark Hunt's lawyer apparently is not a complete and total moron and realized he didn't have a leg to stand at all from a legal standpoint. At least I hope that's the case going by this.

The Count got slept. Two finishes in less then a month. :funny:

And yet he did and got embarrassed twice in three weeks.

IMHO you can't pull Mark Hunt from a fight out of fear for his health and safety and then dump Bisping into a fight three weeks after he rocked by GSP multiple times in a grueling fight and then choked unconscious.

Even Walt Harris and Fabricio Werdum had longer turnarounds after their fight that lasted all of a minute and virtually no punches were thrown. Werdum fought again 6 weeks later, and Walt Harris it was 4 weeks. But again, that was a fight where both men took virtually no physical damage.

Isn’t there like a Muhammad Ali act or something that is supposed to protect fighters from significant brain trauma?

That's Chinese (and you could even include Japanese given we all know what went on in Pride) Athletic Commissions for you, Bisping was given a 30 day medical suspension after UFC 217 after not only being choked unconscious, but he was also dropped by a punch that led to him being choked out. Yet somehow he was allowed to compete 21 days later after being finished. Absolutely Ridiculous IMO.

There's a reason Athletic Commissions dish out medical suspensions & it's not because they're haters. It's to try & at least minimalise the chances of you doing long term damage to yourself. There is no way that Bisping fought Gastelum with his head at 100%.

Quality fight this between Alvarez & Gaethje. Alvarez has ate some savage leg kicks.

What knee to finish it, Alvarez showed some heart there to withstand that punishment on his leg.

Nicco Montano new UFC Women's Flyweight Champion......only a placeholder until Shevchenko takes the title from her.

Jesus Christ Francis Ngannou flattened Overeem with a savage left hand

My interest in a possible Ngannou vs. Moicic fight has piqued.

Holloway swarms & smothers Aldo in 3. I thought Aldo would have thrown a lot more leg kicks this time around.

My interest in a possible Ngannou vs. Moicic fight has piqued.

That fight is going to be violent to put it mildly.

Cyborg vs. Holm was a fun fight, but Khabib was great tonight.

He'd crush Connor.

Cyborg almost got screwed by the judges. She won every round, easily.

A friend of mine asked me if we'll ever see Cyborg vs. Ronda and I told him "the only way that happens is if it happens in WWE" and that's not even going to happen in WWE even though it's 90% likely that Ronda is headed there.

I’d much rather see Nunes vs Cyborg, than any other female fights.

It seems UFC is more keen on Nunes vs. Cyborg anyway. And since Dave Meltzer says UFC 219 is projected to have done over 350K PPV buys, they will probably want to book that fight sooner or later.

So Ronda is in the WWE, fulltime. Dana must be bricking it. :hehe:

Probably. In all reality though, he has known for a long time that Ronda was done
He was hoping to get her back and has been talking like he could. He probably knew it was a long shot, but he needed it. Especially with Conor being Conor.
