7.19 - Quest - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

This was a really good follow up episode from Apocalypse. It gets two thumbs up from me.

I disagree with the BDA assessment overall. There were several times at which I heard TW's voice deepen in a very Supermanly way. That said, how did Brother Teague happen to construct all of that Kryptonian stuff while pretending to be dead for twenty years?

I was riveted by the episode while it was on, but in retrospect...

Brother Teague worshiping the traveller one minute and pulling an "ancient" Kryptonian ritual out of his arse to kill him the next... WTH?! How did this guy become privy to more information than apparently Swann (this was not in his book) or Clark?

And Clark just hesitates when it comes to killing Lex, and the guy who has lived to PROTECT wants to KILL Clark?! I GET that he would be dangerous if "controlled" but that's a pretty quick jump to a conclusion for someone who has been waiting SO LONG to serve...

And Chloe to the rescue again... I guess I can live with that... She has great instincts and is VERY tuned into Clark. But, I guess it's true what they say about adrenaline... because rocks do not normally break that easily.

I also agree with what others have observed. So much of this story feels REALLY shoehorned in. At least, for folks like me who periodically watch past seasons and KNOW that Lionel didn't abandon and ignore his son.

If they are going to weave a story around past events I wish they wouldn't REWRITE them.

I really liked this episode, this has been a great season maybe even one of the best ones and it's shaping up to be a great finale. I know it wont happen but how cool would it be if Lex is the one that releases Doomsday, who kills Clark in the season finale (making him the first and only baddy that actually had a chance and got one on him in the show) but comes back in the new season (and he can fly now) to destroy Doomsday (not sure how but yeah lol). oh nevermind!

Well, I'm still around but I've pulled back out of necessity. I don't want to be spoiled, but it's not like The CW got that memo.

They ruined some serious suprises with the Apocalypse and Arctic Official Descriptions...

Don't know why I even bother if they're going to spill stuff like that in an official description.

I know this show is in the land of make believe. But they really could make some things a tad more believable.

How Chloe got there so fast, in fact about 10 mins after Lex, I do not care if she used a Jet.. she still has to leave her building make her way through traffic to the airport, get the Jet, get the Pilots (unless they live on the Jet), do a pre flight, make a flight plan and submit it..ect..

And as pointed out, her super strength in bashing the alter and putting that lid back on.

Btw where did Chloe get all these super hacker/computer skills.. hack into thr FBI.. no problem. Same with Jimmy.. how did he get so good with computers... this show is getting further and further from realisim. Perhaps Next week Ma' Kent can come home and use her laptop to Hack into into the NSA or something.. that would be oh so cool

yea, the amount of hacking on this show is ridiculous. My fave was when Chloe hacked into the bank database and stopped a money transfer. Really?

I think the episode wasn't bad. It wasn't excellent but it was OK. The real deal was Lex searching the stone. the whole clock/stone/archeology thing pleased me very much. The rest was just average.
BTW did anyone else notice the batman begins gotham city shot in the episode ? Just after Clark discovers Lex is not in the hospital anymore.

I love a bit of speculation among those of us here, but I too am disgusted and completely let down by CW's constant leakage of crucial and final moments. It would have been nice to have those be surprises while watching the show.
