7.19 - Quest - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Knight, people are allowed to have differing opinions

I don't think people here understand this concept & just because the old timers think people are complaining just to complain certainly does not make them right when it comes to that. If some people learned to use the ignore feature instead of being childish everyone would be saved alot of trouble

I'll have to see the episode again. I thought everyone pretty much said to Clark that he has to kill Lex.
Chloe basically said Clark has to kill Lex (she said 'you have to play God'). Although she never actually said 'kill', Clark did. Also, the whole idea that he should kill Lex to protect himself but won't... thats a big part of his morals.

I don't think people here understand this concept

Is that an accusation?

Look, I don't think people get this so I'll explain it again:

It's not the complaining, everyone complains. Hell, I could complain all day about how much I hated episodes like Blue and Sleeper and could even give you pretty compelling reasons why...

I get that.

What I don't get is the constant nitpicking from people that freely admit that they don't actually like the show.

Why bother to come here and write long dissertations on a show you can barely stand to watch? The thing is the complainers tend to say the same thing all the time...

Just say it once and be done with it. We don't need to hear every single episode how much someone hates <fill-in-the-blank>.

That's crossing the line from having an adult discussion about the show into just making comments only to "stir the pot..."

That's trollish behavior and I don't think anyone likes to see that, no matter how you feel about the show.

So far the only people that think that are you old timers. You old timers are blowing things way out of proportion. Go find another board if you hate it here that much. Whining about things when only you old timers see things how they are are not helping the situation. In fact it can be said that you guys are the one making it worse by constantly whining when the mods have already had their say in this. You guys are the one trolling about whining about the same thing over & over again even after the mods have had their say. You guys whine about the same thing week after week & you say the so called "complainers" are trolling when you guys are also trolling. You are certainly not being any more "adult" then the people you are whining about are

agreed, although I like to stir the pot, because sometimes the blind devotion of some fans to the show gives me an urk (almost every week). I will never accept Blind devotion, from anyone, over anything(when arguing about tv it's harmless, but on a grander scale, blind devotion leads to things like suicide bombers and ineffective wars on terror)

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, as David has. Us old timers are pretty good for the level headed discussion, be it negative or positive. Because that is just wrong. So Dave, lay off.

But just because someone posts negatively about the show, doesn't mean they don't like it: ie. Me. I just have to voice my dislike for many of the creative choices taken on this show, because there is no reason to talk about the things that they got right: I expected them to get those things right, a 2 year old could

I try to defend myself as an "oldtimer" and you turn that into a reason to crucify me?

Nice.

Now, who is being the troll?

Your no more guilty then I am. I bet the mods are looking forward to getting rid of this forum when all is said & done after the final season & just remember you old timers are the ones that started the arguments with whining once again that you do every single week on the same subject

so, quest.....

i thought it was a great episode, had some really tense moments, cant wait for next week, the preview was amazing

You're = contraction combining you + are.
Your = possession

LOL, at least we old timers know the english language.

Drop all this old timers vs newer posters crap and just chat pro's and con's of the episode.

What's odd is that the show really wasted Clark's college years. We hardly ever saw anything about college outside of his first year. It would've been the perfect time to really establish his desire to become a journalist.

This is one aspect of the show that has been driving me insane. Now granted I haven't been watching the show as consistently as I did back when it started but I haven't seen one thing in recent seasons that even hint at him becoming a journalist. Sure there were some mentions of him writing for his high school paper but there's been nothing to really indicate him choosing that as a career.

Of course I'm still waiting for Clark to get a clue and become more active with the super heroics as opposed to the "oh no my friend is in danger, I have to do something" mentality.

Another great and solid episode. I was afraid I wasn't gonna like it that much with the whole DaVinci Code/God angle but I really did.
Love how they use things from early seasons to tie the whole Traveler/Veritas plot and the story about the castle (from season 1) was another good one.
Tom Welling was great and keeps getting more and more like Superman, especially on his tone of voice. Michael was great as well, so was Allison and guest star Robert Picardo.
Loved the ending with the virtual globe and I can't wait for next week's season finale.

actually in SR when superman lifts of that island he pretty much had intentions of killing Lex

and those 2 sidekiks of lex died too

so it's nbot the 1st time clark will kill someone

i don't have problem with this board BUT go to IMDB u'll see here it's nothing compared to there:woot::woot:

I think that's a skewed perspective. He had the get rid of the island, but knew he couldn't go back. Conclusion: get rid of the island and save the world. It's not like he thought to himself: I'm gonna throw lex, his goons, and the hussy into space.

that being said, Superman causes death often enough, without him actually murdering them. There is a difference

superman never had any intentions of killing anyone. It's not what he does.

he should have called batman:word:

I think people die due to the collateral damage caused. But Superman or Clark Kent has never directly murdered anyone (I think. I don't read the comics).

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Chloe's superstrength.

I mean how do you break off the end of a centuries old stone slab with a metal crucifix anyway?

I thought it wasn't bad at all, but it could have been that Chloe seemed really sexy at the beginning, which doesn't usually jump out at me. I thought it was a nice touch that she was reading The Tipping Point this close to the season finale. Then again, I treat this show like a guilty pleasure so I enjoy most of the episodes.

Yea, I really didn't like that part but I let it slide because a lot of the episode was filled with your typical comic book story BS that you can't help but buy no matter how ridiculous it is.
