10 Minute Short In Front Of Thor

When there is a short, where do they put it? Start? End?

Personally I would like some Cosmic Marvel style served up with Thor. Maybe Thanos history, Guardian of Galaxy intro, or Nova!

probably something related to the thor mythos, or whatever will happen in the film. i suppose. just to make the general audience ready for what's coming. it might be hard to swallow if people don't know what to expect. i could be totally wrong tho.

Have I missed some great news hereabouts? Why would they show and what would this "10 minute short" be? And is there precedence for this kind of things? If so, whre and what movies have ever had this?

I have no idea either. I'm thinking this is about the reshoots they were doing we already know about.

No, no hidden news. I was referring to Marvel's announment to start making shorts for their movies with the purpose of introducing more obscure characters to future movies.
This news came out last spring I believe.

With this in mind (Marvel hasn't said which movie would start this off with), I realized I screwed up this thread title, it should have been in the form of a question. Not a statement. My bad!

I just wanted to stir some discussion if Marvel decides to start this off with the Thor movie.

Well there is the 5 minute footage already and we really don't know what will be used in the Trailer. so it is possible the accumulation of all the Trailers and footage there could be a 10 minute short.

It does say that Iron man 3 and Avengers, I would say whatever this is, it would be too soon for Thor to have a short.

Oh, well, that's cool. If they're going for more obscure characters, I'd love to see a short about Valkyrie before Thor. Then she could be a supporting character in sequels.

It should show Thor dancing. Everyone loves it when superheroes dance and Hemsworth can use his mad skills he learned from "Dancing with the Stars".

Actually, arent they supposed to be starring other marvel characters who havent made film appearances yet? before Thor should be Heroes for Hire, or Doctor Strange. Before Captain America should be Namor the Sub-Mariner.

As Spidey-Quad said, there was a thread on this previously but it was some time ago.

I absolutely love the idea of the 10 minute short. As long as it's done well, it's a great way for the more obscure characters (or even well known ones that havent a chance in hell of getting their own movie - Captain Britain short at some point? Here's hoping) to get a chance to shine on the big screen, all be it briefly.

Actually, thinking about it - a short could also be used as a feeler that enables Marvel to gauge interest on a character that they are possibly considering giving a feature film to but have reservations about success; just do a 10 minute 'sampler' and monitor the reaction of the GA.

I think...originally a while back there was 'discussion' of placeing 10 minute new character introductions in front of other Marve Tent Pole releases.


Makes sense in theory. Not sure they would spoil to much of Cap or Avengers though.

THEY MIGHT.... take the time to get people familiar with lesser characters they are considering for new movies...use it as a gauge to see if the audience would be interested in..

I think the Sentry could probably work pretty well in the movieverse, actually. The nature of movies would require his story to be kept short and to the point. It was all the meandering around and shifts in his origins and powers and sanity and who was manipulating him this week that really dragged him down in the comics. The core concept is still pretty good.
