I remember a while back there was a rumor going around that Marvel was going to begin producing short 10-20 minute films of some lesser known characters to release with their bigger films.....

I guess it wasn't true, and im sad.

But I really think that Marvel should do this....especially with a movie as big as the Avengers is going to be. It could really test the market well for a less popular hero film. Like Luke Cage or Hank Pym......Deathlok....maybe even something cosmic.....I don't know.

But I think that would be just great....even if it's unrelated to the Avengers....just to start getting small short films to introduce some characters.....

Think of the possibilities. like...introduce black panther in a 20 minute short then have him in Avengers 2. That way people can know about him a bit and who he is, and you can save that time in Avengers 2 for something Awesome.

Yeah, I thought I'd read recently that Feige had said that it was just an idea that was discussed, or a rumor, but he liked the idea.

And now there's apparently this Coulson short film attached to the Thor DVD...

I think it'd be nice as a DVD extra, but not attached to one of the movies in the theater, especially if it's 10-20 minutes. It will be seen as a preview and we already have too many of those as it is. The general audience would be pissed and probably think they went to the wrong theater or something. The most you could do would be something like Pixar's shorts, but those are less than 5 minutes and don't really have much of a story. I just don't see it working for the general audience in a theatrical release.
