The Dark Knight is the only one, really. I've been to other midnight showings but they weren't the "stand in a long ass line" kind of midnight showings.

1. I think either Ramin Bahrani or Kelly Reichardt. On the mainstream side I'd say Jason Reitman.

2. Quentin Tarantino comes to mind.

3. I'd say Nashville because it's a story about people and about a larger culture, and how they live through a tumultuous cultural and political landscape. It does all this and also manages to be very entertaining.

4. I didn't hate the movie but I fear that I'm giving the same amount of negative attention to Avatar.

5. Iron Man, I think. Batman will hopefully keep moving forward, though.

6. Totally flabbergasted on one level, and then not terribly surprised on another. I thought, on one level, that they would handing out the award to the best film in that category which was clearly The Hurt Locker. On the other hand Avatar made a **** ton of money and unlike TDK it was directed by someone incredibly well established in Hollywood.

Adapting books into movies, do you prefer accuracy or creative liberty? Why?

Should be judged on a case by case basis, although a movie that is an adaptation should generally be judged on its merits as a movie and now how faithful it is the source material.

Russian, 'cause it's badass.

I try not to have any.
