I always like to hear responses to this question...especially from New Yorkers.
Another interesting story is that my sister-in-law used to work a few blocks away from the towers, but she had just had a kid a couple of week prior and was on maternity leave at the time so she avoided what could have been a close call.

I kind of feel bad though about how I never went and saw the Towers while they were still up.

Have you or anyone you know been affected by the economic mess?

How much does gasoline cost per gallon in your area?

Do you believe "the american dream" is still possible?

Wow. :wow:

I never got to see them in person either but I did visit a year and a half after the attacks. They were still removing rubble at that time. The missing persons wall was still up. The surrounding buildings still had scratches on their walls from the falling debris. It was very surreal.

Have you or anyone you know been affected by the economic mess? My brother and his wife have had pretty stable jobs for a while, but I don't know if they've had any salary changes. Aside from the cost of their upcoming wedding, they've actually been doing pretty well. My mom, however, works in a school as an aide, and she constantly hears about possible staff cuts. As for me, I haven't had a job, but the tuition has gone up a bit since I started college, but luckily I have financial aid to cover that. I am concerned about what will happen after I graduate and try to look for a full-time job.

How much does gasoline cost per gallon in your area? It's just barely under $4, at about $3.89 and $3.95 at most gas stations around here.

Do you believe "the american dream" is still possible? I think to some extent yes, but nowhere near the level that it was believed to be when the idea was first created. I think nowadays success depends more on who you know and what kind of connections you can get. Nothing is guaranteed and qualifications don't seem to hold the same merit that they did in the past.

I went around 2005 with my sister who hadn't been around since before the attacks and it was weird because it was a dark cloudy day while we were there, but after we left it started to clear up some more.

Are you a good cook? If so, what would you say is your speciality?

Are you a good cook? If so, what would you say is your speciality?
I'm a really picky eater, so I don't make a wide variety on my own, but I would say I make killer Hamburgers and French Fries.

What is the strangest food you've ever eaten?

What is the strangest food you've ever eaten?
A friend of mine gave me and another friend some Calimari once to try. She said it was great but neither of us agreed.

Are you a reality tv fan? If so, what shows do you watch?

Are you a reality tv fan? If so, what shows do you watch?
I never really got into reality tv or what makes shows like Jersey Shore so special, but a couple of months ago we only had basic cable in our house and we were desperate to find something to watch. Me and my mom ended up getting hooked on 101 Ways to Lose a Game Show and Expedition Impossible. After those recently ended, we started to watch Take the Money and Run. I don't know how much those count for reality shows, but those are the only shows other than sitcoms and other shows that I would make sure to watch weekly.

Fave song from a musical? Toss up between "Music of the Night/ Phantom of the Opera" from POTO, "96,000" from In the Heights, and "Home" from Beauty and the Beast"

who is your favorite obscure marvel character?
obscure dc character? I'm not too familiar with any obscure Marvel/DC characters, but I am a big fan of the Green Arrow, even though he's not as popular as is considered to be a ripoff of Batman.

Marx
How technically savvy are you? I wouldn't say I'm too savvy. I can use some Adobe programs, but aside from that, I usually look on google for any help in using other programs or solving problems. A friend of mine recently gave me her external hard drive because she thought I could fix it, but I felt bad because I couldn't even figure out what was wrong with it or how to fix it since I couldn't find any solutions online.

ComicChick
what's an obstacle you've overcome or a significant event in your life that has impacted you greatly? I would have to say growing in as the youngest of three children in a somewhat poor family with no father and only a mother to support of us. It hasn't stopped me from becoming well educated, going to what is considered the best high school in NYC, and also being the first one in my family to graduate college. It has also impacted me in that I don't ever want to be like my father in the way that he abandoned me and my mother after I was born, and also the way I treat women.

How old were you when you got your first kiss? Some would say when I was 17, but it was more of a forced situation and I did all that I could to not reciprocate. So I like to say it hasn't happened yet. :o

if you could go on any game show, which would it be? I literally had a dream within a dream last night where I was on Wipeout, and woke up with the money I had won at the end. But in terms of classic game shows, I'd say The Price is Right, but only if Bob Barker is hosting.

favorite video game character? Toss up between Nathan Drake and John Marston.

first video game you remember playing? Dr. Mario on the NES

what's the last video game you played? Top Spin 4 on PS3

favorite film pre 1975? Trouble in Paradise and Citizen Kane both come to mind. I saw them both in a film class and I really enjoyed them.

scariest movie you've ever seen? Asteroids. It was a very awful film, but I first saw it when I was 6 and it scared me into having serious anxiety issues.

last movie you saw? in theatres, and at home? The Dark Knight in theatres and The Prestige at home.

Has a movie ever made you cry? If so, which one(s)? Disney's Up made me cry, especially the opening, and the ending of My Dog Skip because it was so sad to see a dog act as though he was truly old and sick and die.

What's an underrated film in your opinion? Comic and non comic. An underrated Comic film would be The Punisher (2004), and non comic would be Bruce Almighty. I feel like some people look down on it because of its religious themes.

i like Bruce Almighty too Sweet! :awesome:

If you could be a stage hand with any band while on tour, which band?
And to make it more fun pick a current band and a band from any other era Current band would be Evanescence because, even though they aren't too popular and haven't been as active in recent years, I credit them as the band that got me to start listening to music, particularly Rock. But for another era, I will say the Beatles because I'm too young to know what Beatle-mania was and I'd like to experience it first hand without actually being one of the people that the fans are after.

guitar hero or rockband? I'm only going to say Rock Band necause I'm assuming Guitar Hero is referring to just the guitar game and not the other DJ or Band games.

would you rather be a guest on Oprah or Maury? Definitely Oprah because I feel like the only guests on Maury are people avoiding DNA tests or people who sleep with their cousins. At least with Oprah, I can be a guest for something positive.

how do you like your eggs? I've actually never eaten eggs before. Part of that whole being a picky eater problem of mine. :csad:

ComicChick
If u could 'download' any language into your head. Aka you've just learn it instantly and can speak it, understand it etc, what would it be? I want to say spanish because its kinda embarassing being hispanic and not being able to speak spanish too well, but I'm going to go with Chinese instead because I took it for a year in high school and even though I got an A in the class, I forgot everything as soon as the class ended.

Foosball or airhockey? Even though I've never played foosball, I think I'll choose thaat one because I suck at air hockey.

would you/have you ever played Survivor? No because I think I've been a little too shy on the internet to do so, but I would actually consider it and probably do it if I were asked to participate.

how many songs are in your itunes?' 4,112 :ninja:

which poster would you like to go shot for shot against? Webhead2006 :cmad:

play poker with? Prison Mike. I'd like to know how they played poker in the clink.

play D&D with? I've never played D&D, but if I were to, I'd play with .... no one because I wouldn't play it. :oldrazz:

fave boardgame? Monopoly. I like feeling like either a wealthy tycoon or a poor man who owes rent without actually having to owe anyone.

Marx
Do you believe that nice guys really do finish last?
Yes and no. I think that nice guys who don't assert themselves and make their intentions known finish last. I know this from experience. I'm usually the nice guy who tries to convince a girl that I'm not just interested in her for sex, and that I truly do want to get to know her for her, but that has really gotten me nowhere. But I don't believe that being a jerk is necessarily the way to fight that. It more about finding balance between being nice and letting her know how you feel right away so that you don't end up as just that shoulder she can cry on.

when was the last time you broke the law?

tell us something you'd like to cross off your bucket list in the near future

what's the coolest piece of fanboy memorabilia you own? (comic, figure, etc)

weirdest thing you ever ate?

Fave pizza toppings?

Fave soda?

Chips?

What cologne do you wear?
