Anyway, glad to see Sweeney Todd won something this year and got some acknowledgement because Depp has no shot (nor would I vote for him over DDL or Viggo anyway). Congrats to Todd and now they can slap that on the back of the box.

I am very happy to see Bardem win. All five performances were amazing, but I have to say that Bardem earned it.

That clip they showed of Cuba Gooding winning can't be very encouraging. He hasn't made too many decent films since.

All she did well in Dream Girls was sing. Give her a Tony or a Grammy for that, cause she sure as hell didn't act. Breslin, and Blanchett both deserved the award over her. The other two actresses probably did as well, but I haven't seen Babel so I can't say.

Here is where I stand on that. Dreamgirls was a great film. Hudson proved that she can act, and she did a good job at it. However, she won the award because she could sing. There were far more deserving actresses worthy of that award than she was. Give her a Grammy, not an Oscar.

Bird needs to move into the non-animated realm. He is so damn talented (BIRD FOR SUPERMAN!). Ironically, if he did direct live action, the academy would never ever give his type of movies a second thought.
