He blew everyone away. This coming from a guy who felt Bale phone-in a bit of his acting in the first one. I mean who could top that. Hackman's Lex is classic, but forget it. Nicholson's Joker looks like a camp routine now. Bryan Cox and Ian McKellan were respectible in their roles...but this, this was just amazing.

I just don't really see it happening. If an unconventional comic book film like V for Vendetta which featured great performances and good subject matter can't get nominated for an Oscar then a franchise film that features Batman and the Joker for the second time won't either. Let's not forget how many people were clamoring how Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman should be nominated as well as so many others saying Vendetta should get best adapted screenplay, and this was AFTER people had seen the film. We see where that went.
