I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in Baltimore by the end of the week.

Heyward-Bey receiving the phone call: :facepalm until he realizes how much dough he's gonna make.

Looks like the Steelers are looking to trade Larry Foote and if that doesn't work out they will release him.

Veteran LB Foote says Steelers plan to trade or release him
NFL.com Wire Reports

Larry Foote, LB
Pittsburgh Steelers

Career Statistics
Games/Starts: 110/83
Tackles: 431
Sacks: 14.5
Interceptions: 3
Veteran linebacker Larry Foote said Tuesday that he doesn't expect to be with the Pittsburgh Steelers much longer.

Foote, who has only played for the Steelers in his seven-year NFL career, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he wants to be a starting linebacker on a team that will accommodate him. He also said that he can't grow on a team that also has 2007 first-round draft pick Lawrence Timmons.

According to Foote, Steelers director of football operations Kevin Colbert told him Tuesday that the team was trying to trade him but would release him if that didn't work out. However, Colbert called reports that Foote would be traded or released "erroneous," according to mlive.com.

Foote told the Detroit Free Press that his first choice would be to play for his hometown team, the Detroit Lions. But Foote said it's unclear if the Lions want him.

Foote will be a Lion.

The Lions suddenly look like a sleeper team (:wow:). Their defense should be solid with all the veteran talent they added in the Free Agency. Their offense is very talented - only their youth hinders that side of the ball.

The opportunity is there, although I think they need a second starting running back. They have the tools, but I think that defense still needs some retooling. Anything is possible, but I see them with a losing record this season and really rebuilding their D with next year's draft.

Maurice Morris is a decent spell running back, but I truly believe Kevin Smith can be a feature back in this league.

If they add Foote, they are in a good situation. Cliff Avrill is a good defensive end and pass rusher. Grady Jackson gives them a run stuffer at DT. Peterson-Foote-Sims would give them one of the better linebacker trios. Henry/Buchanan/Fisher is not a bad group of corners. Delmas brings Bob Sanders potential to the safety position.

Gunther Cunningham is a good defensive coordinator - which is also key. This is, on paper, a mid level defense.

If Stafford can come in and play anything like Matthew Stafford his first year, their offense will be fine.

True as a buc and hurricane fan I would love to pick up edge but he doesn't want to be a situational back he wants to be the man but he has to realize he's getting older and last year actually made him look good he was health in the playoffs for the first time ever.

Uh i'm drinking the Lions koolaide as well they will be much improved this year. Not because of Stafford i hope daunte starts for this year.
