So are we seriously going to keep pretending that the New York Knicks have any shot of getting out of the first round? Their goal for this postseason should be to not get swept.

I don't know why D'Antoni slowed down their pace of play. That's the only thing that gave them a shot to win. That frenetic style gave teams fits. Since they don't play any defense, they're screwed in a half-court play-off style of play.

Right now, they play Miami. Lol, as reliant upon the big three as the Heat are, NY is a 1st round blip.

I know it's crazy, (I am a Lakers fan btw) but I see Miami beating the Lakers in 6 games for the finals. (if they meet; I'm sure they will though)

Well it makes sense considering the Lakers got swept by the Heat, but split with the Bulls and Celtics.

I honestly don't see Miami getting past Boston, though. And if they do, Chicago will be a tall order for them.

I honestly have no idea who the Lakers match up against the best out of the three, you would think it would be Miami based on matchups, but Miami was the one who swept them. Considering the Celtics beat the Lakers before the Perkins trade and that seems to have made them worse (although I think they'll turn it on for the playoffs) they might be the best option. A Lakers/Bulls series would also be up in the air since both games was way early in the season and neither team was at full strength so its unsure how they would match up.

Lol. If the Nuggets & Bulls make it to the Finals. Lebron & Melo will have two of the biggest Dunce caps on in history. More so Melo. Lebron has a lot more to look forward to.

That would not look good for Melo (Nuggets winning or have a decent run). I know ... completely different team, but still. It just would not reflect good on him, especially if the Knicks were to bomb out.

Really? I think LeBron is the one that should be more shamed. Considering Carmelo and the Nuggets never had a realistic shot to win it all. But with LBJ he was expected to be the next Michael Jordan. But then he essentially ruined his legacy by joining the competition rather than trying to defeat them.

While they're both exciting players, LeBron was and is still on different level. And if the Bulls win it all this year, he's probably going to regret not joining them when he had the chance. I mean, can you imagine how much better they would be right now? That's scary to think too considering where they are without him.

Don't know that for sure. It all looks good on paper, but you just don't know. Don't know how he would play with Rose, maybe more importantly, don't know how he would play under Thibodeau.

Yes it's easy to say that now, because he has been a bad fit in Miami, but that's because he's on a team with two players who demand the basketball, and neither one happens to be a PG. This is a unique situation that LeBron is in, but it still doesn't change the fact that he's the most versatile player in the game. He can fit with just about any team in the league, and he would fit perfectly with the Bulls. Unless you're suggesting that Luol Deng is a better small forward than him. But in hindsight, because he can't fit with Miami that means he couldn't fit with the Bulls.

Just the part where the guy who's second in the league in scoring is somehow a bad fit in Miami, given that he's averaging 27/7/8 and coming off a month where he put up 28 ppg on a career-best 58%.

Well first of all, I don't think that's entirely true, it's because they don't really have a team. They have LeBron, Bosh and Wade and old guys and guys who can't shoot. When Miami threw their pre-championship parade for those 3, they were introduced as the "Miami Heat" and that just about said it all.

I always wanted them to go for LeBron, he is the best basketball player in the world. Before this season I always thought of Derrick Rose as a secondary player. A real good player who can be a tremendous assist to the "main guy". I was hoping that would've been LeBron and when they missed out on him and picked up Boozer (and then Korver and Brewer) it was fast looking like they were going to be the Utah Bulls, trudging for the next 5-10 years in what the Jazz were and have been in ever since Jordan destroyed their best chances, NBA Hell.

But then Derrick Rose actually started playing and that's what changed my mind. Not LeBron's real or imagined struggles in Miami, not him "not fitting in" on that team, but because of Rose's play.

I should have explained myself better. The Heat this season have gotten their wins off of beating the bottom feeder teams in the league. We all know by now their horrible record against the top contenders. They're winning off of talent. I certainly don't deny that a team with LeBron, Wade and Bosh isn't a joke.

It's one thing for them to have a great regular season, but I was talking about the postseason. And I don't believe that athletic ability is going to get them(or any other team)to a championship. But it does get you all of those stats you mentioned which is impressive, but not their ultimate goal.

But the reason he's a bad fit is that he demands the basketball, but with D-Wade and Bosh, they all need to have it. Not to mention this causes problems late in games when they can't decide who takes the last shot and always seem to end up giving it to Eddie House to let him be the hero. It won't cut it against the Bulls in the playoffs.

No. But it's certainly a large part of their struggles this season. Still not the reason why I don't think that they can win it all, but I'm not going to deny it when it's clearly lost a few games for them.

Actually I wasn't saying s**t. That was Ghost. I still maintained that Lebron, if anything, woulda hamperd Rose's development, but if he came here, I wouldn't have minded. I really just wanted Wade.

Wade + Rose would've been a perfect 1-2 punch, esp. since like Rose, Wade was also from Chicago. It's too bad that he stayed at Miami instead, although he probably couldn't the opportunity of being in the same team as LeBron and Bosh.

The biggest difference that would have occurred had Lebron moved to Chicago is that I don't think Rose would have been as dominant a player (not initially). I think he would have deferred to James and might not have developed as quickly into the team's closer.

But who knows ... James doesn't seem to really thrive as a team's closing option, so maybe he would have been the playmaker looking to set up Rose.

Bottom line ... James would have been a nice fit in Chicago. My personal preference was to land Wade, but either would have fit with Rose.
