2010 NFL Thread II

Of course, they'd have to comply with the Rooney Rule before even hiring Fisher, so teams will call up Tony Dungy to see if he's interested. He'll likely say no, to the surprise of none of those teams. And then the NFL will say that team has complied with the rule.

The Rooney Rule would never fly in other businesses.

If I tried to get a job at Pizza Hut and the manager tells me, "Thank for you for coming in today, but we're just gonna go ahead and hire Timmy...."

I'd be pissed.

The Jets are my favorite sports team...I enjoy watching my team comeback with 45 seconds to win a game. Its ****ing glorious, you have shown that you are pathetic to test my manhood because it gives me "goosebumps" to watch a comeback video. Why? You sound like every idiot on Finheaven. jealous, envious, and super lame.
See for yourself: http://www.finheaven.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?49-Beasts-of-the-AFC-East

Maybe you should go to some sports forum and see what the opinion is there after seeing such a brilliant drive.
Maybe i shouldn't attack your manhood or maybe I just might be pointing out how it is highly probable you are dreaming about Darth Vader at night or Darth Vader dueling with the Darthphere..."GEEKASM NAME BRO"

You clearly don't know **** about me, so don't act like you do.

I think its asinine to say something about someone's manhood for watching a comeback video on youtube.

Its the same as some dork watching Darth Vader fight Luke Skywalker again and again on his 10 different DVD collections of the Return of the Jedi.

If anything, that might be to manly for anyone to argue about.

Lol not to mention I am arguing with a obvious Jets troll...He is a Dolphins fan and they do not like anything Jets.

Monday Night Miracle has been thrown down oh so much down the Dolphins fans for years and the failure of comparing every team QB to Marino. It hurts, I understand.

This debate has given me goosebumps. Of course I'm not going to like the Jets. But again, this has nothing to do with the Jets. I don't know why you would ever admit to watching a youtube video for 2 days and getting goosebumps. If it was a game winning drive in the Super Bowl, then yeah get all the goosebumps you want. It was a regular season game against the Houston "8-8" Texans. I have to ask, when was the last time the Jets won anything? Oh, that's right. So please stop bringing up Marino and the Monday Night Miracle etc, it's what do you call it "asinine". Keep watching youtube videos and getting goosebumps, I will continue to mock that because it's hilarious.

Well, clearly you are a baby and mock all you like...Because the biggest joke right now is the Dolphins. Alot of fans can enjoy a team coming back and beating a team when everyone thought they lost the game.

haha clearly you can't feel this, enjoy watching two legit AFC east teams in the playoffs.

Here is a youtube video refreshing your memory of something that has been as accurate as Marino having 0 rings to be proud about.

Hahahahaha, wow. It's ok dude. It really is. I love how you keep calling the Fins a joke, but again I ask, when was the last time the Jets won anything? I mean I can understand if a Pats fan wanted to call us a joke but you guys just became barely relevant again.

Lets see when was the last time the Dolphins even won a playoff game? Okay then, step away from the keyboard.

I am finished with you...Go back to making love to Darth Vader.

Make sure sleep with your light-saber tonight. Your manhood depends on it.

Btw, there are some smart fins fans on this forum...like Mister J.

But you like your ramblings about the Marlins are just the conventional crap-talking fins>NFL fan.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You mad. Hell yeah I'll make sweet, sweet man robot love with Darth Vader, be sure to grab the lotion and box of tissues before you load up another Jets game winning drive.

Also, I have a Taun-Taun sleeping bag, I don't need a lightsaber.:o

No. Fisher is good, but I heart Mike Smith.

I picked the Falcons in my pre-season rankings in the last thread to win that division. Seems like its on course to happening.

Smith is a great fiery coach.

LOL! Where are the smart Jets fans? Oh right, there aren't any.

Except for the ones that don't get goosebumps watching youtube videos.

Am I the only one who thinks Darthphere is an idiot?

I see you have spent your whole adult life on this forum...With over 70,000 posts why don't you step away for a bit and watch jeopardy or something.

I told you I was finished with you, but you keep coming back like a Gnat.

Let's tone down the personal jabs, fellas.

What would Dungy do?

Yeah, when someone says that, they usually just stop responding, the fact that you respond means you're not done with me.

And there's many people that think I'm an idiot, I rather people think I'm one than to actually be one you know what I mean Poeman?

Finally, I do watch Jeopardy, I'm very good at it.

Hey I made a little harmless joke and he blew this thing up to another level, like BL said, he caught feelings.

I sleep with a lightsaber.

But honestly, boasting about your team winning a playoff game is like kissing your cousin, I mean sure it's an accomplishment but really, is it really something to brag about?

Wasn't it the Jets that stood in the way of Marino winning in the Playoffs on several occassions? Am I wrong?

The thing that Poeman doesn't seem to understand is I made a little joke about him watching a video for 2 days and getting goosebumps. It has NOTHING to do with the Fins/Jets rivalry. It just so happens I'm a Dolphins fan and he's a Jets fan. If someone posted the same thing about their team, I would've made the same innocuous "It's like the first time a girl looked at you" comment. No big deal, now I know Poe can't take a little joke so I will in the future be a lot more careful to not hurt his feelings. :cwink:

I just dont know whats wrong with going back and watching a great game winning drive orchestrated by Sanchez or some other team. It was great, and trust me if your team pulled that off you'd admire it too.

Its like watching reaction videos to certain situations. Its fun. I also dont have any beef against Darth Vader or Chad Vader or Star Wars. But questioning someone's manhood on the internet was weak-sauce. I had to joke about your admiration for Vader.

I guess us being rival team fans it gets makes heated and very tense. Either way, I dont dislike your opinions Darthphere. Its just jawing at each other like most fans do.

It was just a tense moment like Spidey Bat-Kingfish-& I have on the MLB thread. They are passionate fans too

At least you are not Genesis 2.0...I'd rather debate with a fan who supports his city's teams/roots then a front-runner.

The Jets and Marino had some battles, but it was not the Jets that stood in the way of Marino but the Bills and Jim Kelly.

With Marino at the helm, the Dolphins were perennial playoff contenders, reaching the post-season in 10 of Marino's 17 seasons. In 1992 he made his final appearance in an AFC Championship Game, losing to arch-rival Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills, 29-10. Kelly's Bills knocked Marino out of the playoffs three times between 1990 and 1995.

Not to mention when Marino made it to the big game, he struggled but his team did not help either
In Super Bowl XIX, Marino and the Dolphins faced off against San Francisco 49ers and their star quarterback Joe Montana in Palo Alto, California. The Dolphins, who had 74 rushing attempts in the previous two weeks, ran the ball only eight times in this game, placing their chances of winning squarely on the passing of Marino. He finished with 29 completions out of 50 attempts for 318 yards, throwing one touchdown pass and two interceptions. This was not enough, because the 49ers outplayed the Dolphins on both sides of the ball. The 38–16 loss would prove to be Marino's only Super Bowl appearance.

The thing with Marino is he did very poorly in road playoff games. I think he only won 1 which was his last playoff win.

I see Phere's point. Getting goosebumps for a comeback from behind win for a regular season game seems silly.

Saying you get goosebumps for say Tyree's or Holmes catch in a game that really matters is another thing.
