Wait, so there will be 18 games?

:sortofglad:

It's pretty much in the books. The NFL proposed 18 games to the Union and the Union responded with their demands going forward with 18 games.

No rebuttal and if the Union's letting it ride, then it's pretty much a lock.

Even with 2 Byes, the injuries are going to stack up but this will make the Playoffs more interesting, 2 more games for teams with outside chances of sneaking that Wild Card.

Maybe the NFL will buy out the UFL this offseason and make it the new NFL Europe...except let it air still on HDNet, VS, and NESN? (And it's free streaming on ufl site)

So, guess who got tickets for the Falcons vs. Saints monday night game? :awesome:
RISE UP!
Go falcons!

With media attention(ESPN) given to the old school match-up, Raiders vs Steelers... who do you think will actually win?

Good news for Texans fans: Matt Schaub to start.

Matt Leinart is going to have to resort to banging just co-eds from Houston/Rice.

I got raiders on the upset, steelers arent as good as people say

Neither are the Raiders they are the result of a very weak schedule and a very weak division. I'm calling it for the Steelers. Could be wrong, but I don't think I am. Jason Campbell still has a lot to prove and I just don't see this being the game where proves it.

Thats why I said "upset" :o haha
Steelers should win this game, but it just seems like a trap for them. If RUN DMC gets hot on that steelers D, gotta give it to the raiders, if the steelers can stop him, and make Jason Campbell throw every down, i gotta give it to the steelers.

I agree, this is their trap game, but at the same time, the Steelers aren't a defense that you run against. They stopped Chris Johnson. They stopped Michael Turner. They stopped Ray Rice. I can't see Michael Bush or Darren McFadden giving them too much trouble. If there is a chink in the armor that is the Steelers defense, it is their secondary and I don't see Oakland's receivers or Jason Campbell picking it apart. Not with the pressure that the linebackers will be putting on Campbell, anyhow.

IF the Steelers lose, it will be because the Steelers beat the Steelers, not because the Raiders beat the Steelers. Failure to protect the football, penalties, and mistakes will kill the Steelers, if they allow themselves to make them. The way they've been playing for the past three weeks, its definitely possible. It all comes down to what the Steelers, not the Raiders do.

I have to agree with both statements. Neitherless...GO RAIDERS!!!

Raise your hand if you've been watching pregame on Fox and can't stand Frank Caliendo.

Couldnt stop Green Ellis last week. Dont forget, the opener, when turner got stopped Matt Ryan hooked up with roddy white, alot. Jason Campbell shows potential, just seems like a "prove yourself" game. Steelers seem so prone right now, I cant place it, but I just feel a raiders win.

That's why I watch CBS. Their studio team is far better. Bradshaw comes off as a ranting, senile old man. Caliendo's segments are annoying as ****. And Curt Menefee can't hold a candle to James Brown. It also doesn't hurt that CBS usually has the better games (take today for example, while Fox is broadcasting the Saints and Seahawks, CBS will have the Colts and Patriots).

Fox needs to completely revamp their studio team with former players who are more relevant to the modern game (Long and Bradshaw aren't) and more talented (Strahan is awful), they need to cut out Caliendo, and do whatever they can to attract Greg Gumble to head their studio team. They also need to stop focusing on being funny and focus more on the game. CBS' studio team has a better understanding of the game than any other in the league. That's why they're number one.

Hard to stop a runner like Green Ellis when you have the threat of Tom Brady. Game planning against Tom Brady is completely different than game planning against Jason Campbell. Same with Matt Ryan. He's a better QB. Its easier to stop good running backs with an average QB than it is with an elite one.

That said, a penalty already. Bad call, IMO, but none the less. Like I said, if the Raiders win, the Steelers will beat the Steelers.

Watching the Tennessee/Washington game...

After a Was sack and shanked punt, Tenn has excellent field position until Vince coughed up the ball on their second play.

VY needs to step up in these games and be the winner many claim him to be, otherwise the Titans are done.

Green Ellis isnt elite, hes run of the mill. Can have great games, but cant be a consistent 100 yard rusher.

Thats why its a trap, you underestimate Campbell. And, Im a falcons fan, but even I can admit Ryan isnt an elite QB yet. But Oakland has a horrid QB, who shows flashes of greatness, with a great RB. If campbell is decent today, I saw black n silver W, but if you guys can pressure him like you did Freeman, EASY win.

Of the new generation of QBs (Flacco, Ryan, Sanchez, etc), I'd say Ryan is the closest to elite. And I wasn't calling Ellis elite, I was calling Brady elite.

The refs are terrible so far today. In other news, the sky is blue.

Ah. Misread ya. But I can agree on the New Gen QBs, Ryan is so close to being elite, he just cant win on the road :/

Matt has won on the road
Not often, see the Pitt and philly game this year, Cowboys, Panthers and Pats game last year. If he could pull out those close road games, he'd be perfect. Just something about him. When his up in the dome, he;s such a sexy beast, but on the road, he gets it done occasionally.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post :P

Damn, this Goodson kid is playing better than Stewart or Williams.

We gotta close up those holes up front, Carolina should NOT be running the ball this effectively.

I prefer CBS. Of course, Terry Bradshaw is senile, he takes offense when Jay Leno makes unfunny jokes about him.
