Jeremy Lin.

What the hell is going on right now.

i can't wait for the knicks march schedule to torch them. Of course ESPN will blame it on melo.

This is like Tebow all over again.

Hah. I just saw someone already said that.

Color me embarrassed.

Because it seems that winning isn't the biggest priority with Dwight. He wants an entertainment destination because basketball is not number one with him.
Which is pretty embarrassing. :o

Like Tebow in what way? Lin's performances are better in comparison to Tebow's...If anything Lin's story is ridiculously impressive.

if you are talking about Linsanity & Tebow Mania then yes that is the same feeling

Calling it Linsanity makes me want to become a mailman just so it'll make sense when I go on a killing spree.

Starting with you.

Lin really gives you no reason to not be sippin on the kool-aid. Dude's a good humble kid, has a great underdog story, and has gots skills on top of skills to boot. Haters gon hate, I guess...

Has anyone here "hated" on Lin at all?

I know I have no problem with Lin. It looks like he'll be a good player.

It's the people who are already trying to put gold rings on his fingers who might irk me.

Don't compare him to Tebow. Lin is good at the position he plays. Tebow, not so much.

Tebow is a Tight End who is playing the QB position. On the other hand, Lin is a pure PG and actually looks to pass first and not shoot first (like Westbrook).

Btw, nice victory for the Knicks tonight. Lin needs to learn to cut down his OT but he has another fantastic night. Amare doesn't seemed like he's in basketball form early on, but at least he finished strong.

I still can't believe that. Here's an emerging guy who has shown in his limited time to be vulnerable to pressure but great when given space and the Raptors sit back in the quarter court and give him all the space he could ask for to take them out of the game.

If you're hamstrung with the limited talent that the Raptors have, you don't need to be hurting yourself any more by being f***ing stupid as well.

I hear you, but in this day and age, the media in just a few days can go from 0-60 with little to no concrete evidence its really warranted.

Flip Murray essentially did the same things when Ray Allen went down some years ago but it wasn't a story because the racial element wasn't there. They're trying to paint some rags to riches story for a Harvard grad like he's going back to the projects if he doesn't pan out lol its nuts.

He wasn't Rocky punching slabs of beef in some meat locker somewhere. He's trying to accomplish his dream, kudos to that. But if it doesn't work out, I presume he can find something to do to pay the bills...

Being passed over the NBA draft and being thrown out of two teams without being given a chance is pretty analogous to punching slabs of meat. He's where he is due to patience and hard work ethic...not initial hype like say a Lebron James. The guy just surpassed Shaq's record for first 5 games as a starter. He led his team over Kobe's team. Impressive feats which ever way you look at it.

I'm not hyping him as the greatest ever, just asking people give him props were props is due and there is nothing wrong with feeling excited about him. I'm not Asian and not a Knicks fan, but I can definitely appreciate the hard work ethic this man has put forth in spite of all opposition. I don't really see the fact that he went to Harvard have anything to do with whether people should root for him....

Agreed. At the same time, there are other great places out there in the world outside of the US who don't even get the kind of shot that Lin has had.

The NBA is very much an opportunity league, and it's always a great story when someone is able to seize a limited opportunity by the balls or throat, make the most of it and force themself into landing the role they deserve.

He's not the first player to be cut or passed over though, it happens all the time. So what about him makes him unique? Its because he's asian, plain and simple. Like I said, Flip Murray essentially did the same things, and it wasn't a big deal.

My point about him being a Harvard grad is simply saying that if the NBA doesn't work out, he'll manage. He's no underdog of any sort, in that respect, IMO.

I think any player who did what Lin did for a big market team like the Knicks would get the same kind of attention. Especially when the team was blowing the season.

I do think being Asian helps though. Seeing all the Asian fans in Toronto getting excited for Lin should speak to that.

I haven't had cable or free time for the past month so I haven't watched any Knicks games, but all I kept hearing was about this Lin kid. I'm definitely shocked because I remember watching him fumble the ball around in his first game after he was signed and thought he was a bum. I haven't seen him play yet now, but given that first impression, I'm definitely intrigued to see what happens.

Found this and had to post it.

Hi, Docker2.0 here, and Knicks fan......................I like Lin and what he's doing for the team but it kills me when people say this team is better without Melo. With the team like it is, without Melo, they are going nowhere. They may make the playoffs, but without Melo, they will be out in the first round. I know I may be in the minority but if Melo comes back and they mesh, I can see them pulling a first round upset over say..............the Heat. Bulls, no chance of that happening but if you look at the make up of the Knicks, they are kind of tailer made to beat the Heat. I'm hoping that Melo fits in because I know the media in New York will kill dude if they lose 2 of 3. Let's be honest to, the Knicks really haven't played anyone except maybe the Lakers and I still can't believe Kobe didn't switch to guard Lin. No Kobe fan here but I'm sure he could have held him in check.
