Looks like Lakers might be in the talks to get Dwight again, now that Nets' efforts to get him may be stalled indefinitely.

Nope nets going all in today...now or never

We desperately needed a future Sg ever since Gordon was traded last year. Crawford was a nice pickup but he was just temporary fix. I haven't much of Brooks game but from what I hear he's a huge Kobe fan and gets compared to him which is a good thing. Under Paul tutelage Brooks can be an all star

He definitely has the same type of mannerisms, as far as how his game looks, his shot is almost identical and some of the moves he already has are spot on. Defensively is where I'm not so certain he'll ever be in the same league as Kobe circa '01-'07. Who knows though, he's super young.

Which is why, IMO, Brooklyn shouldn't be giving him away so early, as well as Humphries or Lopez. I think a starting 5 of those three with Deron & Johnson is pretty formidable. It just would need time to gel, and Brook needs to remain healthy.

Giving away so much for just Dwight, in theory it makes sense I suppose, but Miami was one game 7 away from being broken up, primarily because they didn't have enough surrounding the Big 3. I'm not sure the Nets can get away with the same strategy.

Bottomline is, if Dwight wishes to "be the man" then he should stay his ass in Orlando. If he's really concerned with leaving, then he's going to have to sign an extension somewhere, it's that simple, and he's making it excruciatingly difficult. Nobody is interested in playing this game next year with him, and nobody is going to gut their whole team to, essentially, rent him for one season.

4Y/61M for Brook Lopez.

Jesus.

Dwight thinks he can have his cake and eats it too, but he is not getting his wish. He could've filed for FA and go freely to Brooklyn, but he wants max contract so he signed the extension and thought that Orlando would send him to his favorite destination, nevermind the fact that they'll be getting a raw deal in return. And he didn't want to go to Lakers because he wants to be the top dog and one who calls the shot, even though it would give him a huge opportunity for a chance to win a NBA title. Personally, I wish Orlando would trade him to the Bobcats and see him squander the entire year away on a lousy team.

Was hoping the Spurs would land a FA big but that might not be the case anymore with Lorbek likely staying in Spain. *sigh*

1 year on his deal for every rebound he grabbed a game last year. Woops.

I think the bulls should amnesty Carlos Boozer.. Taj Gibson is better anyways and im sure we could resign him for way cheaper. He is a much better defender also.

After Joe Johnson, I'd rather see what I could get for him in a trade first. :o

Special prayer goes out to my dude Blake Griffin! Clipper nation is pulling for you!

Griffin with torn meniscus. Out for the olympics but will be ready for training camp

He's already tearing up his knees I'm not going to say its over because its not but I mean, a big man needs his knees. Especially someone with such a one dimensional game.

Asked how the 2012 Olympic roster would match up with the original 1992 “Dream Team,” Bryant made a bold statement.

“Well, just from a basketball standpoint, they obviously have a lot more size than we do — you know, with (David) Robinson and (Patrick) Ewing and (Karl) Malone and those guys,” Bryant told Yahoo Sports at Team USA’s training camp in Las Vegas earlier this week. “But they were also — some of those wing players — were also a lot older, at kind of the end of their careers. We have just a bunch of young racehorses, guys that are eager to compete.

“So I don’t know. It’d be a tough one, but I think we’d pull it out.”

Michael Jordan’s take on that? Dream on.

“I absolutely laughed,” Jordan told the Associated Press when asked how he responded to Bryant’s assertion.

There’s a reason they were called the “Dream Team.” (SUSAN RAGAN - AP) “For him to compare those two teams is not one of the smarter things he ever could have done.”

Of course, Jordan has never had a hubris deficiency either. And his response before a celebrity golf tournament in Charlotte shows he hasn’t lost anything in that department.

“Most of us were in the prime of our careers, at a point where athleticism doesn’t really matter. You have to know how to play the game, ” said Jordan, who was quick to note he was 29 at the 1992 Olympics. At 33, Bryant is the oldest player on the 2012 team.

Charles Barkley echoed Jordan’s sentiments Thursday on “The Mike Missanelli Show” on Philadelphia’s 97.5 The Fantastic Philadelphia.

“How old is Kobe Bryant? He’s 34? And he’s calling us old?” Barkley said, as reported by ESPN.com. “At the time, we were only like 28, 29. Michael Jordan and me were the same age.... Other than Kobe, LeBron and Kevin Durant, I don’t think anybody else on that team makes our team.”

Oh Kobe. lol

Yup, just like Derrick Rose his style of play will do him no favors. Westbrook is the next on my checklist although he's such a freak athlete maybe he'll get away from the injuries that plague high tempo, get to the basket, banger type players like Rose and Griffin.

Rose and Griffin are two players that will need to make some changes to their games or fear being the next AI.

Ha! Kobe, what chu smokin'. :funny:

First of all, Kobe told Jordan to his face he would beat him one on one the first time Phil Jackson set the meeting up. Those were the first words from his mouth, so you have to understand his mentality. He really believes that, whether it's true or not.

Furthermore though, I'm tired of how the media and fans romanticize Magic Bird & MJ. I get it, they made basketball popular to a whole demographic that didn't know or care about the sport, I understand. But let's just be realistic for a minute.

In their primes, Bird & Magic weren't great on-ball defenders. Rebounders and passers, yes. On-ball defense, no. Matter of fact, Malone & Barkley weren't any better in that regard. And that was against players of that time. What in the hell would they do against specimens like Durant & Lebron? I mean honestly? Who's staying with CP3? Is Stockton really able to run around with Russell Westbrook for a full game. Do you think so?

To be even more frank, how many international teams in the '92 Olympics had players in the NBA? Now, almost every team has at least a few players from across the globe, so the level of competition isn't even close to the same. I question how the Dream Team would do in the Olympics right now, forget about our team, they would have issues with Spain.

I'm not saying the Dream Team wouldn't win, but it would be a hell of alot closer than some think, if they won at all. And I don't think they beat the Redeem Team period. Point Blank.

:funny:

Lmao, see that's what I'm talking about. He could be 50 and still think he would win. That's why he's who he is.
