2011 NFL Thread: Round 2!

Sanchez didn't exactly light up the postseason in 2009 & 2010. I think only 2 games above 20 points? Only 2 games above 200 yards and like 9 TD in six games.
Heh, in the entire regular season Tebow only threw for over 200 yards twice. And they limped to over 20 points in only 3 games... And in the last 6 games Tebow threw for only 5 TDs...

I don't think these two's college career should be used to judge which one is great, otherwise we can start calling Ryan Leaf great, as well. And Tebow is only great because his team plays around him? That sounds more like his team is great, not him.

Btw, I'm not saying that I think Sanchez is great, but I'm baffled that Tebow gets so much leeway but Sanchez doesn't.

The same goes for Peyton Manning...the Colts worked around him for years and he became an amazing QB. Do you think he would still be great with terrible receivers? I doubt it. That's why I am calling Tebow great. Denver's O-line works for him and the running game works for him. And when he has to pass, he has some great hands to throw it to. Stats play an important part with a QB and it wouldn't work without some good teammates.

So Tebow gets the credit since he "only wins", but when it comes to Sanchez it's not enough that his team wins, but he is judged solely on his stat? Oh, and Sanchez actually won on the road in the playoff, but Tebow's only win thus far is at home.
Not saying that at all, just trying to put Sanchez's 4 road wins in perspective.

And I kept hearing that all year. Well Sanchez has been in back to back AFC Championships, which is no easy feat, I'll give you, but the defense kept them in the game and Sanchez wasn't exactly carrying his team to victory.

Ask Curtis Painter how great the Colts receivers are...

That isn't relevant since the defense even sucked this year. I don't know what exactly happened to the Colts; it's very hard to explain. And this is coming from a Colts fan.

It IS relevant, because you brought the receivers up.

What isn't relevant is somehow using the fact that the defense sucked as if there were some kind of connection between their play and the receivers...

Edit: Which is about as logically flawed as the imbeciles who try to credit the play of the Broncos defense to Tim Tebow (which I have seen people try to do...)

Because the Colts just shut down this season with Peyton not being in the field. Listen, everyone from ESPN to NFL Network to Telemundo has mentioned that this season felt like everyone just took a pass from it because Manning wasn't playing, and this season just felt like Colts showed their worth without their star QB.

When Manning is playing? Wayne, Clark, Collie are excellent receivers and that shouldn't be doubted. It wasn't just Manning's arm; it does take skill to catch a ball and hold unto it when running, so they didn't suck, but this season...EVERYONE sucked.

Well once again we Raiders fans are stuck facing even more changes with the coaching staff. I have to admit it is starting to become very frustrating. However lets hope these changes work and restore this team back to it's former glory. I am hoping through out all of this they keep Jason Campbell.

John Skelton went 6-2
Tim Tebow went 7-4
Where is my John Skelton "All He Does Is Win" song?

Defense keeping the game close so QB can win the game? Doesn't that describes Tebow perfectly?

I'm a big campbell fan...i wish him back
but with carson palmer there..its unlikely

Palmer costs 2 first round picks, so there's no way they'd just cut him. Campbell, on the other hand...

I still think it is a good thing for the Raiders.

I'm not saying anything about Tebow. But I would like to see his numbers for next week's game.

Again, just wanted to put some perspective into Sanchez.

Yea but maybe a team like Washington would take him off our hands and we could keep Campbell. I like right now Jason is a better QB then Carson. You also have a bunch of other teams that would love to have him as well. I just think Jason has more to give because he is a man who can run and pass the ball well.

I think it is a good move as well. I just wish we could have some stability though. That is what attracts players and coaches to a team. I think if we can get some of that we will start to turn things around. First thing I would fix though is the penalties. Over 70% of the games we lost this season was not because we were out played but because of the penalties we had.

The Patriots definitely need to walk on the field while this is playing next Sunday :awesome:

From what players and coaches supposedly said, the power got to Hue Jackson's head after Davis died. Add that to the fact that Jackson royally screwed Oakland with the Palmer trade, and his departure is not a surprise.

In other news, Mike Zimmer is supposedly meeting with Miami and Tampa Bay for their head coach positions, which means Cincy might be out of a DC soon. I wonder what inside-hire the Bengals will go with :whatever:?

Yep. The Tebowmania is an insult.

Cam Newton got Carolina 6 wins. That team was destined to only get 2-3 wins this year with our s***ty defense. Newton can be credited for 75% of the Panthers' points too, and was the first rookie QB to throw over 4,000 yards. Where's his parade?

On that subject, where's Dalton's and Ponder's?
