Avengers may have had 3D, but so did Potter right? The fact that it completely stomped Potter's OW is insane. Not just a few million more, 40 million more? You kidding me?!

And TA didn't even had DH2's massive midnight take; hell, it fell short of THG's. People said taking down the OW record was impossible without at least a comparable showing. TA's walk-up business was simply INSANE.

It's amazing how we talk about the effect of 3D before vs after summer.

Before it's all about the decline of the fad, and how they don't really affect numbers that much(see marvel films last summer).

After Summer it's, well things would be very different without 3D and all that....

I'll say this, James Cameron did what he always does. Game Changed. 3D is a factor and even Nolan will bow before it's might lol. But the films have to be able to make a claim. (ala Avengers, Avatar, TF3...even Pirates.)

I hope we all keep this in mind when predicting Spiderman's take from now on.

They said back in 2011 they were still working on it for perhaps 2013, but they bumped Man of Steel back. But they were still up for it.

It's not that he loathes or disrespects 3D, Nolan is just old-fashioned. He remains defiant in letting film die but that's about it. I hardly think he cares about 3D's successes. He barely visits the Internet lol

I want to see what Ridley Scott does with 3D. He's the master of visuals and mise en scene. Creating fully immersive worlds. Now imagine that with 3D? Interesting.

It's them I respect the most.

I respect Nolan quite a lot for sticking to his convictions. He could have folded to WB's demands for TDKR to go 3D but he didn't.

Agreed. BB, TDK and TDKR weren't meant for 3D, they were meant for IMAX.

Any visually lavish movie can be good with 3D. It's all about imagination and execution.

Listen, I may dislike the Bat movies, but i do have huge respect for Nolan.

But when someone like Ridley ****ing Scott is singing the praises for 3D? Yea sorry Chris, but Ridley gets more attention from me.

It's tough to say. The Avengers has the 3D advantage and the TDKR doesn't. However, TDKR will be a monumental film. BAMFer's friend stated that grown men were crying at the screening.

I don't know.

I disagree about 3D only being needed for spectacle when it can be used as an immersion tool as well. That's why I think Luhrmann is all about using it for Great Gatsby. Seeing that book come to life via depth and what not is something I am honestly curious about.
