Dark Shadows should have released around Halloween time. Nobody wants to see an emo, stylized, vampire shenanigans movie in May. I haven't seen it so I don't know if it was terrible or not but it just looked eh so I didn't go.

I think the director promised it would be better than the second. It was the only condition Will Smith would agree to do the movie.

The script was horrible. Considering Burton and Depp co-produced this as huge fans of the TV show, it's shocking that they went to film with such a horrible script. Visually I thought the film looked good, although some of the makeup effects and visual effects looked a bit cheap, like the werewolf effects and Angelina breaking apart.

First set of RT reviews were not inspiring, only 8 reviews, but I suspect it will be in the mid 50's when all the reviews are in. This will open under 60.

Wolverine origins opened to 80 million i believe then dropped like a stone around the same time of year. The movie is going to have to have good WOM if it hopes to be profitable at least domestically.

And it's an original potential franchise, something that Sony/Columbia may have to do if they want to stay in the film business.

I've been hearing there may be teaser attached to TDKR. I know Man of Steel trailer will be attached to it.

Well, it's been like a decade gap since MIB2 came out. They've had all that time to create a story, rewrite it and reshoot per test audiences, etc. The ads may not be doing justice to how good it may be.

The "good" reviews for MIB 3, basically say "well it's not as bad as it could have been". I don't buy the tracking numbers one bit. Terminator Salvation was tracking well, and when people saw what a piece of excrement that was, I think it was one of the worst attended films over Memorial Day weekend, and this movie will contend with it.

Yep, Will Smith is going to be carrying this movie. MIB name alone or Josh Brolin isn't enough.

When avengers drops the standard 50% next weekend, that will put it at at least 27mill.
I would eat my shorts if the current streak of luckstar competition disney's facing has a Will Smith name property opening at less than that.

I see MIB3 being number one. It's not going to do anything record breaking but I would be shocked if it weren't number for the weekend.
