2013/2014 NFL Thread: The place to get Hernandez'd

Yes, because the NFL told the 49ers they had to pass the ball 3 times on their last possesion while at Baltimore's 5 yard line with 2 minutes to go. The 49ers could have easily ran the ball in for a TD. There was PLENTY of time on the clock. Frank Gore rushed the ball 4 times in the 4th quarter. ALL of those rushes were over 5 yards or more. The 49ers have nobody to blame but themselves.
Exactly the 49ers had a good thing going with the run game. Something that looked like it gave Baltimore trouble. The refs didn't force the 49ers to throw the ball. The 49ers have no one to blame but themselves.

the intentional safety at the end was a brilliant move by John.

Yes it was. Even the intentional holding was brilliant. Because if it gets called, the results are the same (a safety) and if it doesn't, it burns more time off of the clock.

As for the "missed hold" on Jacoby's KR for TD, Mike Pereira said no flag should have been thrown. He said because there were 2 guys blocking him, there cannot be a holding call unless the guy goes to the ground, and in this case he didn't go to the ground.

Vick restructured his contract will stay with Eagles.

Final two years are void if cut by March next year, one year deal.

Interesting. Gotta play somewhere.

Will Randy Moss finally retire?

yeah I dont see him playing again. Only 3 teams I think will take him on

Rams, phins and Texans, all of them need a 2/3wr.

There have been a couple of articles that Moss still doesn't put an effort into plays. Not a fan of Belichick but if he couldn't reign in Moss, I don't see how any coach can.

Lot of articles on Romo.

Let him earn his next contract but have to pay him $17 million which means letting go of a few players.

Or extend?

Watch him end up in Dallas.

GO NINERZ....even though we lost....the superbowl :csad::(:csad::(:csad::(

If that piece of s*** offensive line can get fixed in the off-season, I have absolute faith that Philadelphia can be a contender for the NFC East or the wild card. Hopefully, Kelly can protect Vick as well as utilize his skill set without trying to change him.

With NY or Wash, I don't see Philly overtaking the East and with 2 contending teams in ever other division, they aren't getting the wild card.

Yeah, the NFL has to put up a united front to cover the screwjob. Any player having his jersey used as leverage to pull him out of the runner's path is blatant holding. That's football 101, but it's evidently not part of the Raven rules.

I'm not sure Moss is happy in San Fran. He's too old to be the force he once was, but other teams might be willing to use him more. In SF, he's on a run-first team with plenty of targets. He's never going to be more than a cog in the machine.

Outplaying the other team to win the game is also football 101, but apparently not part of the Niners' M.O.. So shame on the refs for not helping them out more.

It's fair to have 2 people block one person, and they were keeping him from Jones. I don't care how much SF brings that play up, this SuperBowl isn't going to go down as one of those eyebrow raisers by anyone outside of the Bay area. It's not like the Seahawks Packers play, that had the whole nation in a uproar.

Still shaking my head at a NY Superbowl. Now they're considering having it on Saturday or delaying it if the weather is bad enough.

Ugh, I'm so disgusted right now. How the hell did Hurney almost draft Geno Atkins but chose not to? God damn you Hurney!

I wouldn't mind having the Super Bowl on Saturday and not have to worry about working the next day.

It's already been a huge topic of conversation of major sportswriters. It wasn't just a single awful call. It was a series of horrendous calls that steered the game to an unfair conclusion. If the NFL wants the Super Bowl to be a free-for-all where holding, tackling defensive players, fumbles after the whistle, and dead ball fouls are legal, they should at least be up front about so both teams can adjust to those "rules".
