21 Jump Street 2

I thought it was funny, but I didn't think it was as good as the first one. But comedy sequels are never really better than the first film anyway. The best part of the movie was the reveal that [BLACKOUT]Hill's girlfriend was Ice Cube's daughter, and then Tatum's reaction to it.[/BLACKOUT] I really enjoyed the end credit sequence too.

This movie was absolutely hilarious. I love the first one, but this one was better. Definitely seeing this again.

"This office looks like some **** Iron Man would have"

I actually love how Meta this film was :funny:

I like how the chase scene acknowledges they blew most of their budget in the first half of the film.

Absolutely. I forget the exact line, but "explosions, cool gadgets, this office...I'M WEARIN $800 SHOES YOU CAN'T. EVEN. SEE."

I really do want these guys to do the Deadpool movie.

Oh yes love them trying to avoid destroying anything in the chase. Then Jenko chooses driving through the Robotics lab instead of the parking lot.

And they filmed it so you missed all the cool stuff they destroyed, further cementing the budget issues.

I'm sort of in the minority, I really liked it, but I think I liked the first one a little better.

Also, I'm not sure if it was meant to be ****ty CGI or not to emphasize the joke, but if so, that's also brilliant.

I agree that sequence to me was the funniest in the movie, it had me in tears for some reason. I guess it was Tatum's reaction to it.

There were some great cameos in that final sequence, and I'm glad they weren't spoiled in the trailers.

Seth Rogan, Bill Hader, Patton Oswalt, Richard Grieco and Anna Faris (I had to look it up to be sure it was her)

Anyone stay for the scene at the VERY end of the credits? Funny stuff.

I didn't even know there was one.

Oh well, I was gonna see it again anyways. :oldrazz:

22 Jump Street was good. Hangover Part II wasnt. The jokes in 22 Jump Street, even the non meta ones, were just better. The characters in Jump Street were funnier.

I used to hate the second hangover. Ive seen it about 3 times now and I realize it's at least watchable unlike the third.

The characters were better, the jokes were better, and the story was better. This doesn't feel like a cash-in, but a movie where it feels like effort was spent on making a script that would surpass the first.

Have you actually thought about the fact that it could simply be because "22 Jump Street" is good, while "The Hangover Part II" wasn't? Because aside from being a rehash of the original, I thought that movie tried too hard to be shocking and subversive, turning out to be noisy and gratitious, lacking the heart that made the first one so special and the characters so likeable.

Exactly. My biggest problem with the second wasn't that it was the same, but that all the jokes much more mean spirited than funny. There was nothing funny about Stu getting being dateraped by a tranny, his brother-in-law losing a finger and spending 3 days in an elevator (and then all of a sudden be okay with it), and Phil getting shot wasn't funny either. There are more examples but I haven't watched it and years and don't care to.

I remember sitting in the theater wanting to laugh, but thinking it was just so mean spirited, especially Alan.

Anyway, seeing this today. Can't wait.

Lord and Miller defintely need to do a Marvel film

I agree. I wish Marvel had hired them to take over Ant-Man, but I can see other movies down the line that they could do.
